property valuation: One Man Wins Fight over Property Assessment

In spite of the fact that the Douglas County Assessor's Office has agreed to a home valuation of $210,000, Troy Hodge is still waiting for the hassle to finally be over. For the past four years, he has won appeals at the County Board and the state for the $210,000 valuation only to have the Assessor set a higher rate. Roger Morrissey, Douglas County Assessor said the values often rise after appeals because the property values have to reflect the true market value of sales.
