      Before writing this I read some other blogs on AR about single listing sites, most talked up the advantages but few told you how or when to use them. Frankly most single listing sites are hardly even seen by the major search engines and really the only advantage is to impress your clients.

How in the world did a guy from a small family owned company in Kansas City make Loopnet's top 100 list?
Hard Work!
Loopnet.com is arguably the most important and trafficked website for commercial real estate in the world. Whats more it owns the top search engine ranking for several other categories also. Google search for commercial real estate, investment property or even horse farms or land for sale and Loopnet.com pops up somewhere.

By now most real estate agents have at least one website, many have more than one; that coupled with all the other social networking tools and blogs we use, we are all pretty plugged into the cyber world.
Oddly enough I still see agents out there who are still relying on a sign in the yard and an add in the local paper.

For years I have used Craigslist to advertise all of my listings, both for sale and for rent. I have also often posted my real estate services in the "services" section. A  recent study showed that nearly a third of real estate buyers us Craigslist!
Recently my account was put on hold, after many attempts to correct the problem with nothing but form letters from Craigslist I opened a new account. Within a few weeks that account was also put "on hold" with no notice or explaination.

I was just checking out my YouTube account tonight, I was fascinated by the results. I've posted several videos, most of them for rental property in Kansas City. I get a lot of visitors. The most interesting thing is the demographics of the viewers.
The graph shows that 86% of viewers were female, does that mean that females are the ones looking for a new home?
A few years ago NAR reported that 84% of home searches begin on the Internet. But does this mean that 86% of that 84% are female? It is quite apparent that females are searching YouTube … (10 comments)

I'm overwhelmed with technology, I try to maintain about 5 different blogs. AR is by far the most successful and the most visible online. I maintain at least 6 websites. I have three computers, a smart phone, several types of GPS devices, the list goes on.
Sometimes I long for the days when we just cold called and knocked on doors.

Recently I posted a blog about the frustrations I have with agents who list investment property without the knowledge of the market they should have. Apparently that raised the ire of a few who felt it was condescending. Perhaps it was, thus the source of my frustration. All agents are not created equal, having a real estate license does not make you knowledgeable in all aspects of real estate.
