blogging: Is Your Blog Out Of Focus?
- 06/11/11 09:55 AM
Is your blog clear and precise or is it out of focus? Does the consumer know exactly who you are and what you do when they read your blog? There are many blogs on Active Rain that just make no sense to me. When I scroll through the articles there's no uniformity in look or topic. I leave not really knowing what the writer does or where they do it. It's a shame too because you can tell they have spent a lot of time on it. I personally believe in being very focused. Anyone that reads my blog

blogging: Blogging Thoughts And Observations From Broker Bryant.
- 01/25/11 09:51 AM
Hi Folks. I've received several emails lately from newer members asking me questions about Blogging and how to get started and I thought this post may help. As some of you may know I have been a member of ActiveRain for almost 5 years. In fact I was member number 871. Now there are over 200,000 members!!! Needeless to say I've seen a lot of changes and seen a lot of members come and go. Also, I want to point out, that I am NOT an expert Blogger. I don't have any rules and regulations to shove at you and strongly

blogging: Is your blog relevant?
- 05/29/10 04:56 AM
Hi folks. I wrote this post almost 4 years ago. At that time ActiveRain only had about 1,000 members. And already we were writing about how to blog!! I think the information is as relevant today as it was back then. What do you think? Is your blog relevant? I have read several post recently asking this question. It’s an excellent question but because it’s so subjective how do we know? I am new to this and have never had a weblog before becoming a member of ActiveRain so let me give you my thoughts from that perspective for whatever it’s

blogging: Blogging, features and high school. Are they related?
- 11/10/09 09:27 AM
Can you guess which one is me? OK folks, here's something I don't do that often, a blog post about blogging. I know...I know....booooring. But every now and then I just feel I need to get it out there. There have been quite a few posts lately about "Featured posts". And as usual the conversation gets around to the "popular" bloggers. I happen to be one of those "popular" bloggers and have been pretty much since the beginning of AR. In fact I think I may have had the first featured post ever. Since then I have had.....are you

blogging: Are you running a "stealth" blog site?
- 06/19/09 10:33 AM
How many of you have visited blog sites where there was NO indication that the writer was a REALTOR®? Well I have seen many. In fact if I didn't know better I would think the authors of some of these sites were puppets, dogs, cats, fruits, vegetables and an assortment of other non-human "thingies". If you are a REALTOR® you have a Code of Ethics that you must abide by. Here are a few applicable codes for you: Article 12 REALTORS® shall be careful at all times to present a true picture in their advertising and representations to the

blogging: Don't wait for your Blog to "Pull" people in..."Push" it at them!
- 04/28/09 10:04 AM
Hi Folks. I know I've written about this topic on several occasions but I feel it's worth repeating. Don't wait for people to find your blog, PUSH it at them. The way I look at it is, I spend a lot of time and effort putting together blog articles. Just about every thing anyone could ever want to know about Real Estate in Poinciana Fl, what I do and how I do it, I have already written about. Why not use it? Here's an Email I recently sent out: Hi Mr New Seller, I have attached the listing agreement for your review

blogging: "Gone Fishin'" This Blog is Closed.........Or NOT!!
- 08/28/08 06:12 AM
Hi folks. A few weeks ago I was listening to Real Estate Radio USA. Yes, I am an avid listener of the Barries. Anyway, Barry Cunningham, the big fluffy one, brought up an excellent point about blogging. His point was...."What do we write about, after we have covered everything there is, related to buying or selling a house?" Barry also mentioned the fact that most of us, who have been blogging for a while, have already written our best articles about real estate. And I have to say I agree completely with his thoughts on this. I spent some time

blogging: Is ActiveRain truly a Crap-A-Rama?
- 04/10/08 02:30 AM
Hi folks. I haven't written a post about ActiveRain in a long time so thought I would do it today. I don't know how many of you guys venture out into Blogdumb, but if you do, you'll notice that a lot of Bloggers seem to have a problem with ActiveRain. During the almost 2 years that I have been blogging here, we have been called, by the "upper echelon Bloggers" sheep, lazy, stoopid, inept, point mongers and a myriad of other less than flattering names. Of course, this is nothing new, it's been going on pretty much since ActiveRain came into existence about 2

blogging: Ride the blogging wave. Be compliant and don't get wiped out!
- 10/15/07 09:51 AM
Hi folks, this is a follow up to my last post, Posh'd Oh my gosh! Does that make me an "Expert"? In that post I wrote this: "What if NAR or your State's Real Estate Board, decided tomorrow, to clamp down on all the ethical and legal violations that abound in blogdom? And believe me they do abound. I have visited many blog sites and for the life of me I can't even tell who they belong to. No company name, no licensee name, no contact numbers, nothing that even gives a hint that the owner of the site is a licensed

blogging: Posh'd oh my gosh!! Does that make me an "Expert"?
- 10/13/07 10:31 AM
Hey there! I forgot to tell you guys that my blogsite brokerbryant.com got posh'd this month. I'm not quite sure why or how but I guess that it's a good thing. So if you have a moment pop over and give me a vote. The site with the most votes at the end of the month gets featured. In fact if you go over there and look at the site you will see our own Maggie Dokic's site, "The Blog That Ate Miami.com" is the featured site for this month. Is that like the best name ever for a blog?

blogging: I ain't no idiot!
- 09/23/07 08:33 AM
Hi Broker Bryant, I joined ActiveRain back in April and have been spending a lot of time reading blogs an comments. I even written a blog a several weeks a go but have bean afraid to post it. I no I shouldn't be but there are so many rule's and stuff I'm afraid people will laugh at me. I'm a hard working honest realtor but my English and my spelling ain't no good. I've been sailing real estate for about five years now and my clients really like me. My problem is I had problems growing up and never finished high school. It's

blogging: Blogging. Push me...pull me?
- 07/05/07 08:09 AM
Howdy fellow Rainers. I read an article in this month's Realtor magazine titled "E-mail or Blog?" written by Jim Kimmons. Jim touched down a little about e-mail being "push" marketing and a Blog being "pull" marketing. I certainly agree with this. It was a good article even though he mentioned the Typepad Blogging platform but neglected to mention ActiveRain. Now, since Jim is a member of ActiveRain, I'll cut him a little slack and assume he just forgot about us. Anyway, his conclusion was...why choose? Use both. Well, to that, I totally agree. Below is an actual E-mail that I sent out

blogging: I humbly submit my 100th featured post!!
- 03/13/07 09:09 AM
Hi fellow Rainers. This is one of those post I have been struggling with for days. My dilemma has been whether to write it, or not. "Well, Broker Bryant, what's the big deal?" The big deal is, this is my 100th featured post!! Now I guess this is based on the assumption that it will be featured. OK, so I admit, I e-mailed a moderator and gave a "heads up". Didn't make much sense to write a post about being my 100th featured, if it didn't get featured. So I cheated. Did you know I have never done that before? I

blogging: You can't sell Real Estate if you blog!! Says who?
- 03/01/07 06:56 AM
Wow, it has been three whole days since I posted on ActiveRain. That is the longest break I have had since June when I first joined. Well, let me tell you, it wasn't intentional. I have been swamped with business!! I guess that's a good thing, but I must say, this work stuff sure does get in the way of blogging. "Broker Bryant can you sell our house?" "Broker Bryant can we buy that house?" "Broker Bryant is our closing scheduled yet?" "Broker Bryant........?" Anyway, you get my point. I read a comment yesterday, in a post written by Michael Kwan, a

blogging: It's Raining in California. How I reigned in CaliGal!
- 02/23/07 10:35 AM
So, today I placed a home on the market, from a consumer who has been reading my ActiveRain Blog for a couple of months. CaliGal has been living out in California since September 2006 and Mr. CaliGal has been stuck in Poinciana Fl. trying to sell their home. About 2 weeks ago CaliGal e-mailed me to see if I could help them out. Their home had been listed on the market since August 2006 with another REALTOR® but unfortunately they were not able to get it sold. CaliGal had done a GOOGLE search a couple of months ago and lo and behold

blogging: YoMama! This one's for you!
- 01/31/07 12:50 AM
OK, YoMama, this one's for you. I met YoMama on Saturday. She had called me last week and left me a message that she had read my Blog on ActiveRain and found it hysterical. She asked me to come by and see about placing her home on the market. Well, being the good little Broker that I am I said "Sure". YoMama, had read a few of my posts about Sellers, who had refinanced their homes, and who were now in a position of not being able to sell, due to the fact that property values have come down and their

blogging: Killing three birds with one stone!
- 12/10/06 08:43 AM
Hi folks. Today I have a dilemma. As you may know, I have been at the top of the "Top Blogs" section of ActiveRain for quite a while. I'm not sure how long it's been but I think it's at least 2 months. Now some may say, "What difference does it make?" Well, to me, I like it. It means folks are reading my Blog and for whatever reason they find it to be interesting. Now for a Blogger this is a good thing. So, I like it. Also, from the consumer's perspective, it gives me more exposure, I think. My

blogging: The stars are falling! The stars are falling!
- 09/17/06 10:41 AM
Wow, here we are at the end of another week. I don’t know about you but I was very busy this past week. Five new listings, two new pending listings and unfortunately, one closing that got delayed. But all in all, a good week. And to top it off, I wrote five featured post for ActiveRain. Yep, that’s right, five. Five Gold Stars in a row. I am humbled, to say the least. I have to say that I am just befuddled by this. Why is this happening to me? I read a lot of very good posts on AR and I

blogging: A peek into the head of Broker Bryant!
- 09/01/06 09:34 AM
When I fist came up with the title of this post "The Lovely Wife" said it would be very frightening to actually look at what goes on in my head. She's probably right. It's very busy up there. Kind of like an amusement park, full of roller coasters, haunted houses and an occasional freak show. But hey, it's my head and it is what it is. But fortunately for you, this is not what my post is about. Just trying to get your attention. My post is about Blogging, why I write, what I write, some comments on a few of
