Feeling Stressed? Then Set Boundaries And Create Habits
MAYBE I HAD A TAD TOO MUCH PROTEIN IN MY DRINK!!
Well I done good. I posted my 1st blog article in a couple of years on Wednesday and folks actually saw it!! That’s always the first step in having a successful blog. At least that’s what they say. Not sure who “they” are but I’m sure it’s the truth because I read it online.

Anyway this article is not about blogging. It’s about setting boundaries in your business and your life. It’s about taking care of yourself first so that you are your best … (37 comments)

motivational: The Key To Success Is To Keep Moving Forward. - 05/17/13 10:20 PM

The Key To Success Is To Keep Moving Forward.
Hi folks. Are there things you know you should be doing for your business that you have put off doing? Well go for it. Before you go to bed tonight make the decision to get into your business. Do the things you have been procrastinating about. Make a decision to be successful in spite of this difficult market. Don't listen to the naysayers. They're wrong. Get out of bed tomorrow and start moving forward. Go find that new listing or that new Buyer. I can assure you they are out … (8 comments)

motivational: Sometimes You Have To "Just Do It". - 10/21/12 10:39 PM

Hi folks! I just realized today, that it has been days since I wrote a post for my Blog. To be honest, that is really out of character for me. I am always very consistent and persistent in every thing I do. It’s my nature. It’s my character.  So let’s give this blogging thing a try today and see what I can come up with.

I know some will say, “Broker Bryant if you don’t feel like writing, then don’t write.” My answer to that would be, that the best way to succeed at anything, in life, is … (8 comments)

motivational: Overcoming Adversity Builds Strength And Character. - 11/04/11 12:58 AM
Hi Folks, I read an article from a Realtor(R) about the struggles she is having and how she has reached a crossroads and has to decide whether or not to stay in the business (I'd link to it but it's a private post).

Her article got me thinking about my own situation a few years back. The market in my area crashed in mid 2006. My income dropped over 80% in 2008. In the middle of it all my wife had major medical issues.

Giving up real estate never even entered my mind. I'm way too independent to … (44 comments)

motivational: How badly do you want to stay in business? - 06/06/10 08:41 AM

Hi folks. These last few years in Real Estate have been very challenging. A perfect strom to say the least.
As most of you know my market area is Central Florida. Specifically....Poinciana. Poinciana was one of the hardest hit areas in the country with values down 70% from early 2006. REOs and Short Sales make up roughly 85% of the market.
So how bad did it get? I have always been a small time Broker in a small time market. Usually closing 40-50 deals a year. In 2008 that dropped to 18 deals for the entire year!!! Add to that … (169 comments)

motivational: Are you just "hanging in there"? I can help. - 04/20/10 09:57 AM

Hi folks. Recently, I've read quite a few posts on ActiveRain from folks trying to decide whether or not to stay in the business. The posts don't surprise me as I have been reading those types of posts on AR since I joined back in 2006. What surprises me are the comments from people who mention they are "hanging on waiting for things to get back to normal". You know I hate to be the bearer of bad news but things will NEVER be "back to normal".
Staying in the business may be the right decision. But if you … (145 comments)

motivational: If people don't value your time they certainly won't value your relationship. - 02/09/10 02:54 AM
Time. Mine is valuable. Is yours? One thing that agents struggle with is being in control of their time. How often have you popped out to show property at the last minute? Or had to cancel a personal event because one of your customer/clients needed to see you? What about the Buyer who can only look at properties every other Saturday from 4-7 pm? Do you work with them?  I don't.
Here's a fact. There are NO real estate emergencies.
Here's another fact. You will NEVER be caught up. There will always be another call to make. Another website to update.

motivational: Success in Real Estate requires "Growing a pair" - 10/12/09 08:49 AM
Are you working on getting business today? I am. In fact it's what I do every day. My job is generating business. For any one wanting to work in real estate, as a career, generating business is the number one skill you must learn. First and foremost it requires work. Not hard work but consistent and persistent work. This means making a plan and sticking to it. Not for a month or for six months but for EVER. But where do you begin? What activities should you work on? When in doubt I always go to Google. If I were new … (25 comments)

motivational: Don't wait for change BE the change! - 12/26/08 06:13 AM
Hi folks. Well we made it. 2009 is upon us and if you are reading this then chances are you are still in the business. Many aren't. And to me that's kind of sad. A lot of good people have gone out of business this year. They were unable to or not willing to adapt quick enough and the changing market got the best of them.
I too struggled this year. I was hesitant to change my business plan and thought that if I "just hung in there" the market would change and things would be OK. Learning new skills didn't … (78 comments)

motivational: Maybe a Little Motivation is All We Need. - 12/14/08 08:01 AM
OK, today, I'm posting a little motivation. I figure, in this more difficult market, motivation is something we all can use. One of the things I like best about blogging is it gives me the opportunity to write about what's on my mind. Sometimes it's very light hearted and sometimes it can be very intense and disturbing. But whatever it is I find it to be very freeing to put my thoughts out there for the world to read. So here goes.
I've always been kind of a "lone wolf" in my business and my life for that matter. I'm not … (36 comments)

motivational: I am soooooooo lucky!!!!! Or NOT. - 12/05/08 08:58 AM
Hello fellow Rainers! This is going to be one of those post that has been flopping around in my head for a few days. Not quite sure how it's going to turn out but I think there's going to be a point in here somewhere. So please bear with me. Sometimes I just have to get it out of my head. OK, since I don't really know how to start this, I'm just going to jump in and use myself as an example.
"I feel so lucky today! Business is booming and as lady luck would have it, I am in … (104 comments)

I posted this as a comment on C-Tann Starr's post yesterday but feel it has some value so.......here it is:
Folks, these are difficult times that we are in. But keep this is mind....there has never been a time when the consumer needed good ethical REALTORS(R) more than they do now. Many homeowners are struggling to keep their homes or salvage their credit. They need us to help them. Buyers also need us to help them get into a home while prices are down and they have many to choose from. Now is the … (37 comments)

motivational: Dancing down the home stretch!!! - 10/13/08 10:25 AM

Ok, folks here we are, the 4th quarter, crunch time. My favorite time of year. Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Eve. The weather is changing. We even had a cold front in Florida today. The temperature dropped all the way down to 87. Burrrrrr! It was freezing! Ok, maybe not.
Anyway, I hear, from different sources, that this is a slow period for Real Estate. People are gearing up for the Holidays and let's face it, who wants to move between Thanksgiving and Christmas? Well, if you have been reading my Blog, then you probably know by now, that … (34 comments)

motivational: Get out of your comfort zone!! - 09/05/08 12:56 PM
Tutas Towne Realty, Inc Hi folks. I wasn‘t going to write a post today but then remembered I will be out showing properties tomorrow so won't have time to post. As some of you may know, working with Buyers is not something I normally do. I have always been primarily a listing Broker. BUT.....things change.
In my market, Poinciana Florida, it is almost impossible to sell a listing unless it is a REO (bank owned) or a Short Sale(SS). In fact, in July, 83% of the sales were either REOs or SSs!!! I haven't pulled the stats for August yet but … (55 comments)

motivational: Are you struggling in Real Estate? Let me help if I can. - 02/08/08 07:22 AM
Hi folks. Today I'm going to do something a little bit different. I'm writing this post to share links to some of the articles I have written on AR. I know....it's sounds pretty boring. But there is a reason to my madness.
My goal on ActiveRain has always been to share what I know and hopefully help some folks out in their business. I am by no means an expert at Real Estate but I've always felt that if I wrote about what I do maybe it would get you thinking of new ways to handle your business.
I get calls and emails … (49 comments)

motivational: A pointless post from Broker Bryant. Or not? - 10/30/07 08:58 AM
I woke up this morning and was feeling a little strange. So I pulled my aching body out of bed and went into the bathroom. When I looked in the mirror this is what I saw staring back at me!!
Yikes! I thought Blogging Bertha was a figment of my imagination and now I realize she's actually a part of me. A very scary part I must say.
Maybe my stressful market has finally taken it's toll on me and my inner demons are coming out. I hate it when that happens. Especially when I find out my inner demon … (60 comments)

motivational: Broker Bryant...serving up your success on a platter! - 08/09/07 05:38 AM

OK folks, as promised here's my follow up to my post last week, "Are you "hulking" up your business plan?". A couple of members had mentioned that the things I mentioned were all well and good but what if you don't have the money to increase advertising and so forth? Well, that's a good question. This post will answer it.
First, it's important to remember that Real Estate is a business NOT a job. When you are a business owner your job is to find a way to make things happen. Chasing money is what we do. If you don't have any … (46 comments)

motivational: Broker Bryant..moving forward and rising to the occasion! - 06/20/07 09:42 AM
So here I sit. Staring at a blank word document wondering what the heck to write about today. Don't you hate it when that happens? When I was riding around today I had all kind of great post ideas running through my head. As soon as I sat down to write my head is empty. It could be stress I guess. The market in Poinciana Fl is brutal right now and some days it just wears me out. Do you ever get like that? I do. It's rare. But I do.
BUT...just like my life, my business and everything else, I do … (44 comments)

motivational: Find your passion and excel in life! - 03/25/07 01:32 PM
I don't know if I'm weird or not but did you know I really enjoy paying bills? It gives me a great feeling of accomplishment. Maybe it's because there were times in my life where I couldn't pay the bills. I wanted to, but one ingredient was missing. Money! Didn't have any and didn't know where to find it. I was always a hard worker and very motivated but unfortunately I just couldn't seem to make ends meet no matter how hard I tried. My biggest mistake was, I underestimated myself.
When I was young my family didn't have much money and … (85 comments)

motivational: Even if you don't feel like doing it. Do it anyway! - 10/31/06 07:04 AM
Hi folks! I just realized today, that it has been 3 days since I wrote a post for my Blog. To be honest, that is really out of character for me. I am always very consistent and persistent in every thing I do. It’s my nature. It’s my character. The last post I wrote was about character and here I am getting away from mine. So let’s give this post a shot today and see what I can come up with. I know some will say, “Broker Bryant if you don’t feel like writing, then don’t write.” My answer to that … (32 comments)
