Do You Think This Is A Large Embarrassed Dandelion? The Blood Lily No, this is a Blood Lily also known as a Firecracker Lily and it always blooms for Memorial Day. It only lasts a few days but is so unusual and so pretty that I can't wait to see it. I only have two bulbs and haven't had any success in having them multiply so I guess I will have to order more. You can get them on the internet here. Blood Lilies grow in Zones 7-11. The blossoms reach 6-10 inches across, place in average to moist spots … (25 comments)

We were shopping for Caladium bulbs about 12 years ago and I came across this small bag of bulbs-there were only 3 bulbs in it and it cost 3 times the amount the Caladium package with 30 bulbs in it cost; but the picture on the package was so intriguing that--being the flower fool I am- I bought it. I’m so glad I did. Every year in late May or early June, I’m the recipient of these beautiful, very striking blossoms. I think they look like firecrackers but they are actually called Blood Lily and come from India or Africa … (20 comments)
