What is Micro-Irrigation? It is low volume irrigation, also known as drip irrigation, that allows you to add flowers and plants to your gardens while saving on water volume. Boot Scooting Scallops - It Is Open SeasonBay Scallops, known for their electric blue eyes, are found in the waters along the Gulf Coast of Florida from Pensacola to the Keys. Found in seagrass beds, they can really scoot when they see you coming. Their means of location is by opening and closing their shells. Bottom dwellers, they can be found in 4-8 feet of water.
Bay Scallops are bivalve mollusks that can only be harvested from July 1 to Sept. 24. This year the season starts today. They cannot be harvested commercially and recreational harvesters must have a fishing license.

Safety Harbor, FL pier is such a peaceful place to sit and enjoy the water, boats, pelicans and other seabirds. We often ride down there to just sit and enjoy the views of the clouds rushing by, the boats coming and going, and the birds doing their communal socializing.
Safety Harbor is one of my most favored areas simply because of the pier and the water. There is also a Main St., with cute and interesting shops, antique stores and restaurants; a great place to do walk-about after eating lunch.

Friday evening we were out showing houses (one was a bank foreclosure in which I was bitten by several hungry fleas); it grew dark on the way home and this was our escort sky for our journey.

Yesterday, as we do often on weekends, we attended the Dunedin Car Show. Dunedin is in Pinellas County on the west coast just about 30 miles south of New Port Richey. Dunedin is a lovely town and has a great downtown area which was perfect for the car show. Lots of small antique stores, etc.
Of course, what I enjoy always is the care and love shown on the vehicles by their owners. (We didn't take Miss Marilyn because we had to show houses right after this visit). And I especially enjoy the humor that is displayed by the owners.
