Trinity, FL - Dog Days of Summer was held by Trinity Rehab Center to benefit the SPCA Suncoast on June 11. It was a wonderful event and so many people came out to help support the SPCA Suncoast. And, they brought their dogs with them. There was live music, lots of free food, doggie treats, a doggie wedding, and Air K9s, and agility dogs. Money was raised, a dog was adopted, and everyone had a tail-wagging good time.

Trinity - Dog Days of Summer Friday June 11 at Trinity Regional Rehab Center at 2144 Welbilt Blvd. in Trinity will benefit the SPCA Suncoast (New Port Richey). Come out to see the award-winning AirK9's Frisbee dogs and Chase Over Jumps Agility Dogs. There will be food, a live band, lots of entertainment and giveaways. Free admission. The SPCA Suncoast is located on Congress St in New Port Richey and is a no-kill facility that receives no public funding, so please come out and visit; we will have dogs for adoption also.  From 4pm-8pm.

On Saturday May 15, Suncoast Ford held  it's 1st Annual Dog and Pony Show. The show was to present the new 2011 Mustang. That was the pony part. Jeff Kasan of Suncoast Ford Mitsubishi invited the SPCA Suncoast of New Port Richey to bring some of their adoptable dogs. Now, you're getting it: that was the dog part. New Port Richey- Bark for Life and Rally for Life in Jay B. Starkey Wilderness Park. About 200 people turned out for the fun (and dogs too, of course). There were lots of activities including an Agility run that any dog could try out. There were prizes for the best costumes and the SPCA Suncoast was there giving out information on their programs.
The SPCA Suncoast is a no-kill facility and they rely on the public for donations and volunteer help. You can visit their website at www.spcasuncoast.com.

This weekend is the Bark 4 Life coordinated by Devlynn Saunders (with the SPCA), but through her Pit Bull Rescue.  The Bark 4 Life will benefit the American Cancer Society.  It will be a dog walk at Starkey Park this Saturday 4/17/10 starting at 10am.  Craig and I will be helping at the SPCA Suncoast information booth. SPCA Suncoast in New Port Richey-Huey is a one year old Catahoula mix. He is loving, friendly, and has one blue eye and one brown. The SPCA Suncoast is open Wed-Sat. 12 to 6pm. Huey is a really sweet guy but he didn't want to sit still to have his picture taken. The SPCA is in desperate need of dry dog food so if you can drop some off during open hours, they would really appreciate it. SPCA Suncoast in New Port Richey has announced that Roxanne has found her new family and is being adopted. Roxanne, as you will recall, has had some problems in the past. Her last owners were moving and had to give her up. Gail at the SPCA says there are lots more cats and dogs available. Hours are Wed-through Friday 12-6pm. Oreo is 2 years old: and came to the shelter when his family was moving out of the area and couldn't take him with them. Roxanne is an 8 year old black cat originally adopted from the SPCA Suncoast as a 2 year old. At that time, she came to us with only 1 eye and we do not know what  happened to her. She was returned to us in  November   because her family was moving and could not take her.  The family told us that in 2005 Roxanne's tail had gotten caught in a door and part of it had to be amputated.  Despite all of these problems, Roxanne is an affectionate, cuddly cat who likes to be petted. The SPCA Suncoast of New Port Richey held a Ribbon Cutting event with the West Pasco Chamber of Commerce to celebrate the remodeling of their cat quarters. The ribbon cutting was held on Thursday, November 19, with the Ambassadors of the Chamber, many volunteers, workers and friends of the SPCA.
