The Tarpon Springs Merchants Association has another great Arts & Crafts Festival planned for this weekend, Jan 19-21, 2013. The event opens at 9am and closes at 6pm each day. And, is located on Dodecanese Blvd., in Tarpon Springs, FL.

I love rocking horses; older is better so I look at them in antique stores when I go. I think I took this picture of the Pelican Rocking Horse at Carter’s Antique Asylum or perhaps the Court of Two Sisters in Tarpon Springs. He is just so sweet and looks old but I suspect he isn’t. He’s just a unique piece that would look good anywhere.

Getting A Waterfront Facelift in Tarpon Springs. Yesterday at the Arts and Crafts Festival in Tarpon Springs at the Sponge Docks, we saw this Army Corp of Engineers dredger getting a makeover.
It was a lovely sunny day with the bluest sky and few clouds. No Photoshop here. All good!

We were all ready for our meetup on Wednesday at Rusty Bellies on the Sponge Docks in Tarpon Spring. Barbara Jo Roberts texted me that the main street on the docks, Dodecanese Blvd, was closed due to standing salt water. She told us how to get around it and we all made it to the meetup. There is an Art and Crafts Festival at the Sponge Docks in Tarpon Springs, FL is this weekend, it starts at 10am on Saturday Sept. 1 through 1pm on Sept. 3. You can read about it on their facebook page.
The Sponge Docks is famous for the sponge divers that built Tarpon Springs; and this statue was placed in their memory in 2002. Today, the Sponge Docks is full of fantastic restaurants and bakeries, and shops selling all kinds of merchandise including...….wait for it..........sponges.

Next Level Church is hosting an Easter event today at Tarpon Springs High School, 1411 Gulf Road in Tarpon Springs-Florida. Thousands of eggs are scheduled to be dropped onto the school’s football field.
A traditional egg hunt is also planned for kids 1-5. Bring your own basket for collecting the eggs.

A Sunday Spent By the Water in Tarpon Springs-Florida and Pooka Bear's Birthday
This has been a beautiful Sunday. We spent most of it by the water which always makes me feel good.
The weather was in the 70's with a great breeze. We enjoyed Art on the Bayou (pictures soon). And, then we went to Captain Jack's Tiki Bar also on the water for a birthday party for our good friend Pooka Bear. She's 8 today and looks great - Pooka is a Wheaten Terrier. Captain Jack's Tiki Bar is pet-friendly.

Pelican Point Seafood Market is located at the end of the Sponge Docks at 933 Dodecanese Blvd. in Tarpon Springs-Florida. They are right next to the Rusty Bellies Restaurant and whenever you go you will see fishing boats at the pier unloading their fresh loads. Call them at 727-934-3134.

While I was at the Autos for Autism event on Saturday,. See my previous post, I wandered into and out of several of the really cute antique, and clothing boutiques. Mainly to take advantage of the air conditioning because it was a hot day.I found a cute boutique called The Mad Hatter General Store which sells hats, really nice hats and lots of pretty dresses and accessories.

The view from the patio is wonderful and totally relaxing and very often you will get to see a shrimp boat or fishing boat come in and park right next to you.
