Must have been old technology..... We have a habit of abandoning what we no longer want to use even if it is still useful. Maybe we need to become more economical with our resources and more aware of what we are losing. Holiday-Florida - The perfect end to the day-no matter how the day went, what could be better than a sunset over the water. Do you see the sunset? Our good friend, Gigi D. Weber -Evans of FLA Title Services, took this picture of us taking a picture of the sunset on Father's Day. This is one of the best pictures of us that I have seen :) thanks, Gigi D. This good-looking guy was sitting in the boat waiting for his family to come back. They were tied up at a waterfront restaurant that we visted in Tarpon Springs-Florida on Sunday. Doesn't he look like he's really worried? I'm not sure if he's worried they won't come back, or worried they won't bring him a hamburger. Or maybe he’s worried that I’m going to get on board. Maybe I should be worried....
By the way, this is his boat.

When You Give A Seagull a French Fry-You get a Tweet-Up! When my son was very young, one of our favorite books was If You Give A Mouse a Cookie by Laura Joffe Numeroff. My husband and I recently had lunch at one of our favorite places, Miss Vicki’s on the River in Tarpon Springs-Florida, and when I gave a seagull a french fry, I was reminded of that book. But look what happened instead.

Walking through an art and craft show on the Sponge Docks in Tarpon Springs-Florida recently, we came across these guys. The parrots seem to be bewildered by the bears. While driving on Keystone Road towards to Tarpon Springs, we spotted a sign for Richard Irvin Park. We had to wind our way down to it but it was worth it. Now I have to tell you that I have lived in this area for 28 years. This was the first time I spotted that sign and visited this park. (Usually the traffic is zipping along so no time to look). Beckett Bridge in Tarpon Springs-Florida is one of several drawbridges in Pinellas County; but Beckett is unique in that it does not have a full-time bridge tender on duty. Tall boats have to provide notice to Pinellas County 2 hours prior to requesting a bridge opening!
Stretching over Whitcomb and Minetta Bayous, Beckett Bridge was originally constructed in 1924 and re-constructed as it is today in 1956. It is a concrete, low-level drawbridge. And, it features a single-leaf span rather than the double-leaf spans found in all the other Pinellas County drawbridges.

The world-famous Sponge Docks on Dodeconese Boulevard in Tarpon Springs is such a quaint, beautiful, funky and historical area that I've decided to write several posts about it but the first one is to show you what the sponge docks are famous for: Sponges.
They are for sale everywhere you go on Dodeconese.
It's a great place to stroll on a sunny, winter morning and see the water and boats.
This was the early morning of an art festival about a week ago. It was gorgeous out there.

It's been a long time since I spotted a Moose in Florida worthy of a Moose Monday post but I won a basket donated to a community event. I can hear you saying what the heck does that have to do with a moose in Florida. Wait for it....I decided to re-wrap the basket (because the cellophane was coming apart) and donate it to a future community event (oh, come on, don't tell me you don't do that). And, guess what, I found this very strange-looking moose inside.
