toni weidman: Shayna Sleeps Through The Holiday - 09/07/15 08:18 AM
Shayna Sleeps Through The Holiday. It was an off-and-on rainy day today, so Craig and I went out this morning and did some shopping in between the rain drops.
When we came home, Shayna was snoring on a box in our office; there are 3 cushions on the box and she loves it for whatever reason.  It's quite comfy, I guess.
Next time I looked for her, she was sleeping on an afhgan on my Stone Mountain glider in the bedroom.  I was working on my computer because I have been having technical problems all weekend and didn't pay her enough homage.

We stopped to … (19 comments)

Every Day Is African Violet Day At My House

Every day, an African Violet blooms at my house, some days many are blooming.

Today, Craig and I will be at Barktoberfest helping to run it and setting up classic cars for our cruise-in, so I wanted to leave you all with this lovely flower to look at. She bloomed yesterday and her name is Arctic Frost. Enjoy!

I'll let you know how Barktoberfest went!
Happy Sunday!

toni weidman: ActiveRain Meet Up Was So Much Fun-We are going to do it every month! - 08/11/11 09:56 AM
We had an ActiveRain Meet-Up today.  We had such a good time together that we are going to do it every month. We all have been commenting on each other’s posts forever, and it was so much fun to meet in person. Jeanne Gavis and I had met once before but no-one else had met except as an ActiveRain friend, of course.
Who was at the Meet Up? Barbara-Jo Roberts, Silvia Dukes, Jeanne Gavish and me. We spent 2 and a half hours at lunch and our waiter was just wonderful and took pictures with each of our cameras for us. (He … (34 comments)

toni weidman: Drink Up! Iced Tea Cools You Down and Has Health Benefits Too - 07/26/11 04:49 AM
I’m a tea drinker as opposed to most to you being coffee drinkers (that what happens when you’re raised in England), and I just came across an article that extols the health benefits of drinking tea. If you want to drink a healthy cold drink when the sun is baking- iced tea is a great way to cool down and give yourself many healthy advantages. If you drink tea on a regular basis, you may be lowering your Alzheimer’s risk. And, your risk of diabetes. Tea is rich in flavonoids (antioxidants) which helps you to have stronger bones too; and healthier … (22 comments)

toni weidman: The Burning Bush...make that The Burning Tree - Anclote Beach-Holiday-Florida - 07/24/11 04:27 AM
Being down at the beach when the sun goes down, the tide goes out, (sorry, that’s a song) is a wonderful place to be when you live on the west coast of Florida.I was taking the clouds and caught the tree with the flash of sun behind it; and was surprised to see when I uploaded it that the tree looks like it's on fire. The only thing I did to the photo was sharpen it a little. You never know what the camera will see that you don't. The clouds rolled in and we did get a storm but that’s … (27 comments)

toni weidman: Thankful Thursday - It's Shayna's First Birthday - 07/21/11 04:20 AM
Today is Shayna’s First Birthday and because I'm thankful I have her, I thought I would share her first year with you. Shayna is my assistant: the picture you see on the bottom of my posts. We adopted her the beginning of October from the SPCA Suncoast and she was just about 3 months old then (the center picture was taken the night we brought her home). She was so tiny and now she weighs 12 pounds.     She’s the most lovable, talkative, purry cat we’ve had, and we’ve had many and loved them all. But Shayna is unique: she’s … (19 comments)

toni weidman: Crossing the Bar - 07/20/11 12:37 PM
Do you all remember when I wrote the post
about the picture Gigi D. Evans (see post) took while I was taking a picture?
This is the picture I was taking. It reminds me of the poem “Crossing the Bar.” Who can tell me who wrote it? I think I can guess who will know without Googling it. (I already know; just checking on you all and no, there won’t be any points given :) “Sunset and evening star, And one clear call for me! And may there be no moaning of the bar, When I put out … (16 comments)

toni weidman: Watcha Doing in that nice dry room? Can I come in? - 07/11/11 08:50 AM

Whatcha Doing In There?I’m out here in the rain and, wow, that really looks nice and dry in there. Can I come in?

Oops, I thought I saw a kitty in there- maybe I’ll stay out here.
Shayna alerted me to the presence of this little tree toad. He looks so sad. Shayna wanted me to let him in to play, but I knew that play to her wouldn’t be play to him; and he was much better off staying out in the rain.

Here's Looking at You, Kid
The hawk looks like he’s thinking, “Hmm tasty meal down there. If only I could figure out how to get it.”  (I shot this through the screen.) Now you know why they call him Hawk-eye.

toni weidman: Do You See a Fish? Or how about some lightning? - 07/02/11 06:06 AM

It was early in the morning and I noticed this strange cloud formation and thought, wow, it’s a fish. It even had the long snout which didn’t show up well but the rest is there. This was facing east as the sun came up.
Then I turned around and caught cloud lightning with the next shot. This was facing southwest: look at the difference in the sky and colors.

Just-A-Mere Lane - Intriguing Name - in Dade City-Florida
For years, Craig and I have driven past Just-A-Mere Lane in Dade City-Florida when we are to-ing and fro-ing to just about anywhere east of where we live. That’s not hard because we live as far west on the west coast of Florida as can be.
We were always intrigued by the name and kept saying “Isn’t that cute, we should see where it goes.” So, one rainy day on our way home from DisneyWorld in Orlando, we decided to actually stop in Dade City and see what Just-A-Mere Lane was … (26 comments)

toni weidman: Oh please, please, please--let me go out on the boat - In Tarpon Springs-Florida - 06/22/11 11:04 AM

This good-looking guy was sitting in the boat waiting for his family to come back. They were tied up at a waterfront restaurant that we visted in Tarpon Springs-Florida on Sunday. Doesn't he look like he's really worried? I'm not sure if he's worried they won't come back, or worried they won't bring him a hamburger. Or maybe he’s worried that I’m going to get on board. Maybe I should be worried....

By the way, this is his boat.

toni weidman: What Do I Need to Bring To Closing and Why Do I Have to Wire the Funds - 06/22/11 06:09 AM
The sellers and buyers always ask (after the inspections, and appraisals are done): What do I need to bring to closing? The Sellers want to know if they need to bring their deed, title policy, insurance policy? 1. Bring some form of photo i.d. (license works) for notarizing.2. Don’t bother bringing your deed-a new one is issued to the buyer.3. Bring any trust agreements-must be originals because they have to be  ecorded with the deed.
4. It’s not necessary to bring the title insurance policy since a new one is issued.5. If you have any appliance manuals, etc. please bring … (14 comments)
