Have you noticed the new changes League City has been making?  A new mayor, new city council members, new city logo, new newsletter, new website, new developments...hard to keep up with it all.  There's alot going on down in this growing city in between Houston and Galveston.  Check out their new website here to see what all is going on this summer for the kids.  From baseball at the "Big League Dreams" Sports Parks to Swimming to Book Discussions, they have something to keep all ages busy.  They also have a Senior program!

activities: Houston Symphony League Bay Area Homes Tour - 02/07/10 02:37 PM
The Houston Symphony League Bay Area has announced that plans for the 10th annual "A Day by the Bay". Home Tour Weekend are bigger and better than ever.  The tour will showcase Galveston Bay houses south of Clear Lake in the Kemah/Bacliff area the last weekend in March. 
Tours, and a Pre-Tour party will be held the end of March.  The homes will big luxury homes and one historic 1960 John Taub house.

The International MOM's Club has an active chapter in League City/Dickinson.  It is a support group for at-home mothers.  Monthly act ivies include field trips, moms' night out, playgroups, park days and more.  They also support local charities with service projects throughout the year.  Children are welcome at all events.

activities: Thanksgiving Float Parade at Childrens Museum Houston - 11/22/09 02:18 PM
Friday, November 27 The Children's Museum of Houston will be having extra activities to celebrate Thanksgiving.  By the end of the week, the kids will be ready for some fun.  The museum will have a float parade which will be each childs floats down the hallways of the museum.  Float making will be from 10am until 1pm and the Parade will begin at 1pm.
The museum will have other activities for the children to enjoy.

This summer 2009



Living fairly close to Galveston, we are able to take advantage of it's beach.  It's a great spot for a quick getaway for some R & R away from the hustle bustle.  After being pounded by Hurricane Ike, the beaches lost alot of sand, and seemed almost nonexistent compared to before.  They had been gradually eroding over the years, and in some areas the tide would hit the seawall.  But since IKE they have been bringing in dump trucks of sand for almost a year now.  I wonder where they're … (4 comments)

Kemah is up and running full speed ahead.  All of the restaurants and attractions are open again.  I had the treat of taking my nephew there Friday night and we caught the Fireworks show.  Not to bad considering they have one every Friday in June.

The Alvin Community College (ACC) will be where the ride begins, it is located at 3110 Mustang Rd.  On-site registration begins at 6am at ACC.  Tour de Braz offers five non-competitive routes throughout beautiful Brazoria County.  Choices area a 10, 30, 50, 62, or 100 mile route.  The Ride will begin at 7am.  Participants will enjoy hospitality and a safe beautiful scenic ride.  A free barbecue sandwich and entertainment will be provided upon completion of the ride.
