The garage doesn't seem to be just a place for our vehicles anymore. It's become more of a storage unit for everything we need to either get rid of or have a special spot in the garage for specific items. The last thing we put in the garage is our cars. If this has happened it's time to clean it out. Take the value of your car and decide whether it's worth as much as all of the junk you are storing in your garage. Chances are it's not even close. The 25th Annual Fords of the 50's Old Car Picnic will be on the San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site, at 3523 battleground Road (around the Monument) in La Porte, TX. 1980 and older model cars and trucks will be on display March 9, 2009 from 9:00am until 2:00pm. Gates open at 9:00am, and there will be awards and door prizes at 2:00pm. There will also be a lunch vendor on the site. The Internal Revenue Service lowered the mileage rates from 2008 to 2009. The rated started January 1, 2009, it includes mileage rates for cars, vans, pickkups and panel trucks. The new rates are as follows:
55 cents per mile for business miles driven 24 cents per mile driven for medical or moving purposes 14 cents per mile driven in service of charitable organizations For more info click on this IRS Link.
