This has been my week for Christmas blogging.  I'll wrap it up with miscellaneous street shots, buildings, and the hustle bustle of people in NYC.   It is a beautiful place to be during Christmas, it did not disappoint!
Next week will be a new year, new beginnings.

nyc: Christmas Windows NYC 2009 - 12/27/09 02:57 PM
Wow, did the retailers ever outdo themselves with the windows.  Bergdorf Goodman, on 5th Ave., stole the show this year, with their bigger than life displays.  All of them more spectacular than the next.  The detail, creativeness and the imagination to come up with these displays are mind blowing.  I can't imagine how many hours they spend per window.  Quite an undertaking, a site to see if you're in NYC they'll be up until the beginning of January.

nyc: Chocolate Pizza on Christmas Eve - 12/27/09 02:33 PM

Finally, on Christmas Eve, I got to have some Max Brenners Chocolate Pizza.  Not exactly what I thought, it looked different on TV, but a chocolate lovers delight.  The place was jumping and they were serving chocolate delights until 11pm.  I've never seen chocolate served in so many ways!
The chocolate pizza came with optional toppings, toasted marshmallows, peanut butter, and banannas.  This was actually a whole pizza.  One half was the toasted marshmallow only the other half was "the works".
If you like chocolate, this is the place to go.  They have a fairly diverse menu, and serve real food, not … (3 comments)

nyc: Possibly the Best Milkshake Ever! - 08/22/09 10:04 AM

Finally, this week, we made it over to the Stand in Greenwich Village, a burger joint really.  But they were featured on Food Network, and I happen to catch the episode.  The episode was "Sugar Rush:  The Best Thing I Ever Ate", famous chef's favorite foods to eat.  This dessert caught my interest, as did several others.  So, that evening we I was on a mission to find this place.  We walked right past it because there was a bouncer at the door checking Id's and it looked like a club.  I thought, oh no, I must have written a different … (7 comments)

nyc: What Can I Do In NYC - 08/08/09 04:35 AM

I'm going to be in Manhattan for a couple of weeks, and I wanted to get some ideas of things to do that aren't of the tourist sort. I've been to Manhattan a million times and have done and seen most of the touristy stuff, used to live outside of Manhattan, just never went in and played, would go through it to Long Island.
Anyway, I've found some restaurants I want to try, one called "Stand" famous for Marshmallow Milkshakes.  "Max Brenner" for Chocolate Pizza and "Five Points Pizza" for Potato Pizza.  Eating is not all I … (5 comments)

nyc: The Best Chocolate Chip Cookie in NYC...Lavaine Bakery - 06/27/09 03:10 PM

Last week, my husband came back from NYC and said he had a treat for me, when he got in the car.  Hmmm....I said let me guess...FOOD!  I'm not sure why I said food, I guess I was hungry.  Jewels, shoes or purses would have been a better answer.  But yes, he handed me a white paper sack with 2 really fat cookies in them.  He said you gotta warm these up for a few seconds, and have a glass of milk.  So I resisted the urge to devour them immediately, and … (4 comments)
