Have you heard of Webkinz? I'll bet your kids or any child you ask has. I hadn't until some friends of ours little kids ask me if I would go to the webkinz site for them. I had no idea what they were talking about, but their parents said it was ok. They logged in, and was too cute watching them navigate through this new craze for kids. Bellaire Methodist Church has set-up a live Nativity scene in Bellaire. Not only will there be people dressed as authentic Hebrews and a village, but a Christmas reading will take place as well. What a great family oriented way to spend a Saturday night. Great for everyone to see, with the recreation of a marketplace, live animals, shepherds, Mary, Joseph and of course baby Jesus. The event is free, and visitors are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to be donated to a local food pantry for the hungry.

All animals, cats, dogs, ferrets, and livestock are supposed to be registered with the city. If you haven't registered your dogs and small animals, you need to do so. Larger animals also need to be registered for the safety of the public. To register your livestock with the city, please contact Officer Cox of the League City Animal Control at 281-554-1377. Faithful Friends Animal is an organization of volunteers who have a desire to visit people who are in difficult situations by taking their pets with them. They visit hospitals, rehab centers, mental health facilities in the Clear Lake, Pasadena, League City, and surrounding areas. They are currently looking for volunteers that have pets and would like to participate in visits. Retired Racing Greyhounds make great pets. They are quiet and loving companions that live to be 12-14 years old. At retirement they can be anywhere from 2-5 years old leaving many years to be a family member. Breed characteristics include a sweet and gentle disposition, little to no barking and low maintenance due to their short coat and relatively low shedding.
