minneapolis: How to get fit without working out! - 11/02/07 09:49 AM
Sound too good to be true?  Well, I'm not suggesting that you give up going to the gym or anything, but here's some things you can do if you just don't have enough time to block out an hour or so each day to hit the gym.
First, start of with a really good breakfast, lots of protein, carbs and fruit.  Now when you go to the office or to the grocery store, park in the back of the lot, yes in the way back.  (If able, carry those  groceries, you  have two arms!)Bring a bag lunch to work. Now I know … (14 comments)

minneapolis: Here's an Idea? - 11/01/07 12:27 PM
Lately I've been finding it much easier to hide behind my computer screen and blog to my fellow active rain members, update my facebook, and respond to all 4 of my email accounts.  Yeap, it seems I've got quite comfortable sitting on my butt.  But what happens when the phone rings? my body goes in panic mode...who's this? I don't recognize the number, could this be a potential lead?...what do I say? do I have a pen, paper?
Why has normal verbal communication become so difficult? O, yeah, because I'm either texting, or writing an email.
Starting today I am going to get … (23 comments)

minneapolis: I need a running plan! - 10/31/07 05:00 AM
I use to be a pretty active runner back in the day, ok well it's been about a year and half.  See, I graduated from college, started a job and well, kind of got busy.  I know it's not a very good excuse.  But now that I'm in real estate, I have a little more, how should I say this, "free time," or at least less of an excuse now.
I really want to get back into running, I know I picked a perfect time to start too!  See, I use to love running outside.  My biggest worry is that I will … (2 comments)

minneapolis: Looking for Eco Friendly Paper - 10/31/07 04:43 AM
I'm in the stages of designing some postcards and would love to print on some biodegradable paper.  I always feel really bad when I see those cards that people stick on the outside of cars laying on the ground, it's not very pretty and not to mention good for the environment. And while I'm not ignorant enough to think that some of mine won't end up in the garbage, or worse on the ground, I just won't to make sure that if they do, they won't be as harmful.
Any ideas on where I can get such paper?

minneapolis: Craigslist Murder - 10/29/07 09:04 AM
Thanks to everyone who commented on my post, "Am I too young to use my picture?"  And while the overall vote is yes, I still have my concerns.
See, Katherine Olson, 24, was found dead in the trunk of her car at Burnsville park, Minnesota, late Friday night.  She was last seen on Thursday morning, when she went to meet someone about a baby-sitting job that was posted on Craigslist.

minneapolis: Today was a Good Day! - 10/28/07 02:03 PM
While driving down France Avenue in Edina, MN, I counted 37 open house signs along the 6 mile stretch.  Yeap, 37 signs with arrows pointing in every direction.  I looked down at my watch and saw it that was 2:30 pm on a sunny Sunday afternoon, peek open house time.
Then I looked in my rear-view mirror and smiled, see I was also working today, I was touring properties with my client.  We had a list of private showings scheduled today and we were on a mission to buy!
As I was driving by, I thought about all my fellow realtors sitting in … (0 comments)

minneapolis: Virtual Tours - 10/26/07 10:53 AM
While watching Dateline NBC tonight, of course another story about the housing market slump comes on.  Tonight's topic: Sellers are having to get more aggressive with their selling techniques.  Duh! Today's market is very competitive.
80% of today's buyers are using the internet to search, and sellers know it.  Today's savvy sellers are asking for virtual tours to showcase their home.  I haven't personally created or used any, but I was wondering what you thought of them.
Do you feel they are worth their price and time to make? Is this something that you can foresee more and more sellers expecting … (16 comments)

I am absolutely in love with Uptown MN. I've been a native to MN my entire life and it wasn't until I was 21 that I discovered this little peace of heaven in MN. I love the simple blend of urban meets nature. I fell in love with the area so much that at the tender age of 23, my boyfriend and I bought a condo right in the heart of town. Now I get to enjoy my two loves, Uptown Living and working in Real Estate…ok three loves, my boyfriend. If you’re ever in the Twin Cites, then I suggest … (7 comments)

minneapolis: Minnesota's Buyers are Biting - 10/25/07 09:19 AM
Why is everything you read or hear about the housing market so depressing??? It's hard to not sit and read the paper or flip on the news and not see the headlines; "Housing Market Crash," "Foreclosure's on the Rise," and my favorite, "Housing Bubble Busted." Isn't there anything else to talk about? Or better yet, anything positive to report? How about reporting on the benefits of owning your own home such as tax incentives and a place to call home. With all the negative publicity, Minnesota's buyers aren't afraid. Check out these videos and see why today is a good day … (0 comments)

minneapolis: Am I Too Young To Use My Picture? - 10/24/07 07:26 AM
I finally decided to put my picture on active rain, I must say I was very hesitant to do so.  See I am only 23 and I've heard that when your young in real estate it's probable best not to use a photo of yourself right away.
I haven't had a professional one taken yet, beacause I can't decided if I really want to use one on my business card and marketing materials.  I know it's a great way to market yourself, but I've really been just using my name Tyghre (tiger) because I think thats a better rout to start … (39 comments)

minneapolis: What Should I Be Wearing? - 10/24/07 07:12 AM
I am 23 years old and I just got my license a little over two months ago. I am the young one in my office, the person closes to me is 29.  As I sit in my desk, I often wonder if what I'm wearing is appropriate for my age and the job, I usually wear a nice pair of black pants and a simple sweater.
As I look to the right of me, I see some ladies all decked out, with their 4-inch stilettos and fancy cocktail rings.  And then I look to the left and see some guy wearing … (13 comments)

Green is in! Did you know that Eco-friendly features can help make your home more attractive to buyers? A few inexpensive improvements can actually transform your home to one that is environmentally friendly.
Start by replacing all your incandescent light bulbs with energy saving fluorescent ones that typically consume 65% - 75% less electricity than regular light bulbs. minneapolis: Creating a Pet Friendly Home - 10/11/07 10:39 AM
If you’re a pet owner, then you’ll need to visit HGTV.com to get the latest home decorating tips and tricks for pet owners. Skipping on wall-to-wall carpet, expensive rugs and breakable items are all common things pet owners do.
But what about decorating your home using colors that match your pet, not only will you be able to mask the hair on the couch, but your pet will look stylish. And while you’re redecorating, make sure to use stain-resistant fabrics and washable paint. Accidents do happen.
Most of all, make your home feel like home for your pet. Make sure there … (3 comments)

minneapolis: Creative Writer for Hire! - 10/11/07 06:58 AM
Many buyers are being misled by many of today’s real estate agents. Agents are getting creative in their writing and are over exaggerating the features and benefits of many homes in there online and news paper advertising. Some agents don’t see a problem with this type of advertising; bottom line, it gets buyers through the doors.
Well, I think it’s misleading and wrong.
It not only hurts the buyers emotionally when they find that there dream home is lacking some or all of the qualities advertised, but bottom line, it wastes the buyers time, their agents time, and not to mention, … (4 comments)
