ozarks: Chips for now; a new spot for information, tips and conversation
- 01/21/08 02:07 PM
In a conversation recently, someone shared they were having trouble with a little thing in email that unfortunately many of us with some experience take for granted. When, at our house, we were all embracing technology a few years ago, some moved ahead of others. It was SO tempting, when they asked for help, to just say, "Oh here let me do it." -- grab the mouse and fix it for them. Or for them to get into the habit of calling the 'know-hows' to their rescue. And, mouse hogs that we "know-hows' were, frequently, we kept our bit of power. In our (0 comments)
ozarks: Mansfield, Missouri -- Muddy Toes in the Ozarks

Boy, has it been hot! and Dry. We've had to do the necessary watering to keep things alive. Containers have a particulary tough time, but we manage to get them some sustaining water every day. Seems like the rainmaking here could have carried over for the real stuff just a little. Zero precipitation on our road for August. August is like that in the Ozarks; it seems AWFUL during the dry month, but this too shall pass. And, when it does, the rains will revive the grass; the grass will forgive and grow and Himself will be mowing at Thanksgiving again! When (4 comments)
ozarks: Mansfield, Missouri -- We Had a Family Tradition Begin on July 4, 2007

My cousin's family came to our house for the 4th. We haven't been able, over the years to spend much time with her family, so we were really excited. RL got so wound up when I told him they were coming that he just had to leave the office and go for a drive! Virtual teams or telecommuting became a twinkle in the eye of real estate professionals the minute fax machines and direct dial long distance were launched. We just KNEW there had to be some way we could make this work -- to be able to contact our office effectively and quickly from an impressive distance. By the moment, technology grows to enable this dream to become more of a reality. Not only is administrative support available from a distance, the entire team can function, can mastermind, can accomplish without being face to face in a tangible way. Virtual activity and teamwork necessitates pro-active (5 comments)
ozarks: Spring in the Ozarks --There's a Mole in the Sassafras and a Mouse in the Glue
- 03/13/07 07:29 AM
Duke, (airdale) has been rototilling the garden and the green space around it where he can reach in pursuit of moles. He vern gets them, and does more damage to the ground than the dreaded armadillos. Being the family dog, he gets a bit of a pass. Today, there is mole activity in the row of baby sassafras trees that DH is nurturing I hope they don't hurt the trees. If Duke had two more feet of cable there would be no moles, no sassafras and then perhaps, no Duke. In an effort to ease his anxiety, I moved my pinwheel mole (1 comments)
