spokane real estate: Manito's Tropical Plant Sale brings a taste of Spring to Spokane!

Spokane in March is hardly inspirational. Oh, sure, I do get excited when I see the first sprouts pop out of the ground, but I am not quite so naive that I take that as a sure sign that Spring will follow close behind. Sometimes it happens . . . more often it doesn’t!
So when I saw a recent challenge from Paula McDonald entitled “What is Springing Up in Your Area?” I must admit I grumbled a little. I just knew other AR members would have posts with great pictures of blossoming trees and a population in flip-flops, while mine would be showing (8 comments)

Looking for the security of a gated community? A place where your summers can be spent playing or traveling without worrying about lawn maintenance? Where you don't have to wake up on a snowy winter's morning and abandon your p.j.'s and coffee for a snowsuit and a shovel? Then maybe this lovely home on Spokane's South Hill is what you have been looking for!
This 2003 home features two bedrooms, an office/den and two baths. The master bedroom is backed by sliding doors leading to a patio and the fenced green space. Large windows, an open floor plan and cathedral ceilings create (3 comments)
spokane real estate: A bargain is only a bargain if it fits!

My little granddaughter, Annabelle, recently celebrated her fifth birthday. When asked what theme she wanted for her party she chose Star Wars! HUH?! Where did that come from?! Seems that Annabelle and her Mama have been playing Lego Star Wars in their down time and Anna has adopted the Star Wars cast as her new circle of friends. She has a bizarre crush on Lego Luke and carries on conversations with him all day long.
So, being the perfect (o.k., I’ll admit it is more like wrapped-around-her-finger) Nana that I am, I volunteer to create a Lego Star Wars cake. I (68 comments)

This morning, on my Facebook sidebar, an ad appeared for a local Spokane architect, Sam Rodell. It enticed me to click because it showed an image of a small, sustainable house . . .definitely an interest of mine. I was a little disappointed when I arrived, however, because most of the featured homes in the architect's gallery were not in any way small and any small structures that did appear seemed to be outbuildings for some larger structure. Many of the details were exquisite but obviously over-the-top expensive! Sam Rodell has a mission statement that I totally agree with, "Build Once, Well." But, how do we make this (6 comments)
