clients: TAKING THE DAY OFF... DO WE DO THIS IN REAL ESTATE? - 02/02/10 08:41 AM
I received a lot of calls today, but they were not work related.  Why was I getting calls then?  Everyone wanted to know if I saw my shadow today.

YES, TODAY I'M OFFICIALLY ANOTHER YEAR OLDER.. AND HOPEFULLY WISER.
I re-read a post by Steve Hoffacker. Yikes, Running out of Saturdays, in regards to the days when we were kids and taking Saturdays off.  Being Realtors do we ever really take off a day?  Not many of us do.
However, today I am making a change, and taking today off... sort of...only answering phones, and making calls.. can't wait to … (18 comments)

clients: ACTIVERAIN IS 3 FOR 3.. THANK YOU.. GIVE YOURSELF A PAT ON THE BACK - 11/22/08 03:13 AM
I COULDN'T HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT YOU.
I've read a lot of blogs where people are looking to see how ActiveRain is working for other members. For the most part everyone said that there is a lot of work in it... blogging, commenting, and responding to comments.
Like anything in life, you get what you put in.  Today proved this.  I've been online with ActiveRain since April of this year.  It didn't take long and I was addicted.  I wrote blogs, and commented on others.  It has been 7 months now, and I wish to take a moment to thank ActiveRain.  I … (108 comments)

clients: The principle of SOWING and REAPING: MY TRUMP CARD for this troubled real estate market! - 11/15/08 09:32 AM
I couldn't agree more with Elizabeth Nieves about sowing and reaping.  Today I received a call from a neighbor.  I talked with her many times about her either renting or selling her place.  She is never home, she is either traveling for work, or with her boyfriend.  I wanted to see her make money on her investment, and at least rent it.. why have it sit dormant?  This was over 6 months ago, and out of the blue she called me today, and I have now listed her place to rent here in Cromwell, CT.  Most realtors might not like rentals... … (18 comments)

clients: SHOW YOUR REAL ESTATE SIGN.. be proud - 09/09/08 06:48 AM
Recently I had clients that were looking for their first home together.  I was working with them for about 3 months, and had shown them easily 26 homes.. with no luck.  They were focusing their attention on homes in Cromwell, CT and the surrounding area.   Then one afternoon a new listing came up in Cromwell and I thought of them immediately and sent it to them.  They wanted to see it and we were there viewing the home in less than 24 hours once it hit the MLS.
They loved the home, we made an offer and it was accepted.  They … (24 comments)

clients: LACK OF COMMUNICATING... FROM EVERYONE... WHY??? - 06/06/08 01:31 AM
Real Estate is a business of communicating, plain and simple.  This is how we promote ourselves.  We meet people, who can potentially be our clients, we speak with them as well as to let them know how we can make this process a smooth transaction for them.  We have meetings, schedule appointments, training classes, etc.  All of these require communication.  So, my question is why is there a lack of it?  I did a blog on this back in May "No Call?  What Happend to Realtor's communicating?" Now I am seeing it from the other end with customers and clients.

clients: A LITTLE SOMETHING EXTRA FOR OUR SELLERS... SOMETHING THEY WILL TREASURE - 06/04/08 07:58 AM
Yesterday I read a blog by Chad Wille... Thank You's Are More Important Than You Think.  This is a great blog for the thank yous for our prospective clients who attended open houses, for buyers, mortgage consultants, attorneys, etc.  Everyone that has helped in the process of selling a home.

The one party that was left out from the above is the seller.  I wanted to follow up with Chad's blog to add a little something extra for the sellers.  Afterall if we didn't have sellers there wouldn't be property to sell... right?  As a realtor, I take *LOTS* of … (14 comments)
