The town of Cromwell, CT is trying to raise money for new playscapes at the two elementary schools in town.  Right now the children have no playscapes at either school to play on, and parents would like to see their children have a safe place to play... not just blacktops.
On September 6th, (raindate September 14th) from 9:00am to 2:00pm, the Children's Committee "Project Recess Rescue" is going to hold a fundraiser called "Touch a Truck" in efforts to raise money for playground equipment at Edna C. Stevens and Woodside Intermediate Elementary Schools. Admission to the event costs $5.

I went to a Farmer's Market in Durham, CT yesterday afternoon. I planned on blogging about that first, but this is going to be about a couple of honest and decent people that worked as vendors there.
All we hear about nowadays is negativity, high gas prices, political candidates and all the back stabbing that goes on.  Hardly ever do we hear about the nice things that people do.

There are so many things here in Connecticut to do.  If you are like casinos, Connecticut has 2 of them... Foxwoods which is the largest casino in the world, and Mohegan Sun located in Uncasville, CT.
This past weekend I ventured to Mohegan Sun. Why this one, and not Foxwoods?  This one is closer to where I live.. but not by much. I also find the atmosphere very relaxing with the softer lighting.  There is free entertainment in the Wolf Den.

When I meet people in my travels the one question I get every now and then is "What Makes Connecticut So GREAT???"  I started a group for this, and if anyone has anything to add.. please feel free to do so.
For one... There is Lake Compounce in Bristol/Southington, CT.  Over the years I've taken my sons every now and then.. and last year I purchased season tickets.  Best thing I've ever done.  After 2 trips there, they were paid for.  Plus I don't know of any other theme park where sodas are FREE.   There are water rides, rollercoasters, games and … (2 comments)
