stagflation: No Such Thing As A Free Lunch - Why The Fed Cuts and The Stimulus Package Are Bad News - 01/30/08 08:16 AM
Today I came across several posts that spoke very enthusiastically about the fed rate cuts and the stimulus package that the Politicos in Washington DC are working on right now.  And while I can understand people who work in an industry that has been beaten up as badly as the real estate and mortgage industries have been being enthusiastic about anything that might get buyers back out into this market, I'm going to ask you to stop and THINK ABOUT THIS!
Do we really want the government to crank up the presses?

Recently I wrote a post called, "Government Drives Interest Rates Higher" which was about how the government's current spending levels has put the US in a position where in order to finance the national debt that they have to keep interest rates high enough to attract foreign investors.  This post so far has a grand total of 1 comment!
Now, I realize that to most people reading about governmental economic policy is about as exciting as reading about moisture content in bee dung, so I'm going to try and spice this up.   There, is that better?
