Cowichan, B.C. - A Beautiful Little Community Recently, we traveled over to Vancouver Island, to visit my daughter. We decided to stay over at a little community near the school, called Cowichan Bay. This is such a charming place, very west coast, and dare I say, "granola". How would you like to wake up to this view every morning? This was the view from our hotel room. Stunning. In the morning, we wandered down to the local bakery and cheese shop. It was fun to see all the funky, artsy stores, and to smell the wonderful, freshly brewed coffee, and taste (5 comments)
This is a follow up post to a recent post I wrote about the Mission Hill Winery in Kelowna. Design is all around us, and even while travelling to Kelowna, B.C. and doing a little wine tasting, I was very aware of my surroundings and how these wineries present and market themselves. Tantalus, on the Eastbend, was a breath of fresh air. Their newly constructed winery is LEED certified, complete with floor to ceiling windows, slate floors and a waste water system that biologically converts all sewage and winery waste into reusable (9 comments)
