home staging: Wine & Design at Ledson Winery Sonoma - 02/22/13 08:09 AM
Wine & Design at Ledson Winery Sonoma
What does a Vancouver Home Stager do after her Real Estate Staging Association Conference winds up in San Francisco?  She goes on a quick wine tour of Sonoma, of course!

After the RESA Conference was finished, my gal pal and fellow Edmonton Home Stager, Peg Barcelo-Jackson and I rented a car and drove to Sonoma for a whirlwind one-night stay.  We stayed at the beautiful Ledson Winery Hotel in downtown Sonoma, then travelled the next day to their main winery and vineyard.

My first thought when we arrived at the … (16 comments)

Google+ Pirates, Photos, Foodies and More
When I first started out on Google+ to promote my Vancouver Home Staging business a few months ago, I thought, ho hum...  just another social media site to have to navigate.  I've always struggled with Twitter, and I find Facebook pretty mindless.  Never in my wildest dreams did I think Google+ would take me on such a universal, creative and awe inspiring journey!
Things started off slowly and quietly at first.  Active Rain offered a webinar about Google+ with A/R's own Eric Proulx.  I had already dabbled a bit on G+, but Eric pretty much … (26 comments)

Holiday Greeting Card Contest---‘APPRECIATION’!
With only one day to spare, I'm squeaking out this Holiday Greeting card, as a Thank You to all the REALTORS® who have sent me business over the years.  I so appreciate their faith in me and would truly not be in business without them!  Thanks so much to Sally Cheeseman for creating this contest.  You can find out the details here:  Holiday Greeting Card Contest-APPRECIATION.

home staging: GaGa for Google + - Who to follow + Tips 11/13/12 - 11/13/12 02:16 AM
I don't know about you, but there are so many Stagers in my city, that it's very difficult to rank very high on Google.  Wouldn't it be great if there was a magic bullit that could propel us higher?  Well guess what?  There is!  It's called Google+.  Debbie Gartner (The Flooring Girl) has written a great post that spells out the benefits of Google+ and how it works.  It would be great to see more Stagers interacting on Google+ and helping each other.
This is the first of a new weekly feature called GaGa for Google +.  In this weekly series, I … (0 comments)

home staging: Visit Stratford Ontario - 11/06/12 01:18 AM
Visit Stratford, Ontario
What did I do for my summer vacation?  I used to dread the first day back at school, when the teacher would ask us to write a short essay on what we did for our summer vacation.  How times have changed.  Fast forward to today, and I'm more than happy to share my wonderful trip to Stratford, Ontario this past September. As a Vancouver Home Stager, I have a love of all things to do with the arts, including admiring all this city has to offer.

Why Stratford?  Perhaps this isn't every West Coasters prime vacation destination, … (10 comments)

Lynn Valley North Vancouver Home Staging Canadiana Style
As a North Vancouver Home Stager, I've worked with many unique homes where we need to prepare the home quickly, by staging and getting the home ready and on the market to sell.  This means that often you just need to work with what you're given.  Renovations are often costly and take up a lot of time to complete.  In this particular case, this home, located in Lynn Valley, North Vancouver, had neither time nor budget.  What could staging do to help this Family Room look its very best for selling?

Sittin' on the Dock of the Georgia Strt, Dundarave, Watchin' the Tide Roll In
Have you visited the Dundarave Village in West Vancouver recently?  If not, maybe it's time to check out this wonderful village, complete with restaurants, boutiques, cafes, a seawall and the ocean.  As a North Shore Home Stager, I've staged many properties in the Dundarave area.  This is one of the nicest areas in Vancouver to purchase a home, in my humble opinion.
Here are a few photos, showing what Dundarave Village has to offer.

Every night around 5pm during the summer, the cruise ships head off … (5 comments)

Vancouver Home Stager: The Quirky & Canadian at the IDS West Show 2012 Final
This year's Interior Design Show West (IDS West) Vancouver was truly a stellar exhibit.  As a Vancouver Home Stager, it's extremely important to keep up with the trends and happenings in the design world.  I was truly inspired, and plan on incorporating what I saw at the show into some of my staging designs.  Here are more highlights of the show.

Meet Exit Stage Right Home Staging Vancouver

Hello.  My name is Sally Weatherley, and I'm the Owner and Lead Designer at Exit Stage Right Home Staging Vancouver.  I'd love to tell you a little bit about myself.  I was born and raised in Vancouver, B.C. and have watched this city change, develop, morph and grow.  I originally had a passion for languages, and studied French for many years, living in Quebec City and Grenoble, France, in an effort to become more fluent.
During my early wanderings, I was inspired by all things European, and to this day, will often sneak … (26 comments)

Piero Lissoni at IDS West Show Vancouver 2012
As a Vancouver Home Stager, I always like to keep up with the latest design trends in interior design.  This year’s Interior Design Show West was a true inspiration.  We were treated to a little slice of European elegance with keynote speaker and Italian designer and architect, Piero Lissoni.

Living Space was key in bringing the charming, affable and self-effacing Lissoni to Vancouver to give insight into the various elements and principles he has to consider when designing key pieces of furniture.  Through a slide show, the charismatic and passionate Lissoni explained … (20 comments)

VANCOUVER HOME STAGERS MEET CELEBRITY DESIGNER, TOMMY SMYTHE, AT THE IDS WEST SHOW 2012
As Vancouver Home Stagers and Designers, we were thrilled to meet Tommy Smythe, Toronto Designer and self-professed sidekick and BFF to Sarah Richardson, of HGTV’S Sarah 101.  Tommy’s talk at the Interior Design Show IDS West was entitled Stylish Solutions for Small Spaces.  Having lived in a 185 square foot studio apartment in Cabbagetown, Toronto, Tommy knows first hand what he’s talking about!  Oh, and how do you like that?  My shirt matched Tommy's bow tie!!!

Vancouver Home Stager Interview with Canadian Home Trends Magazine
I was thrilled and honoured to be interviewed by Crystal Williams, Online Editor at Canadian Home Trends Magazine as part of their ongoing series, Designer Profiles.  Crystal asked several questions about my Vancouver home staging company, Exit Stage Right, how I became a home stager in the first place, who I admire most in the design world, what inspires my designs and a whole host of other questions. My involvment with the Canadian branch of the Real Estate Staging Association (RESA Canada) led to this article.  I'm very grateful to Angela Osborne … (12 comments)

home staging: Steps a Vancouver Home Stager follows to stage a Property for Sale - 08/09/12 01:33 PM
What Steps does a Vancouver Home Stager follow to stage a
Property for Sale?
What exactly does a Vancouver Real Estate Home Stager do, from start to finish, to stage a property for sale?  Often I’m hired to stage a property with very little notice.  The client either goes through a REALTOR® and is not involved in the staging details, or they are unaware of what we as Stagers do in the background and only really see the end result on staging day.  As if by magic, the client’s home is transformed into a beautiful show room.  However, behind the scene, … (26 comments)

Zsa Zsa Gabor Kitty Meets Sally Home Stager Vancouver

If looks could kill, this Vancouver Home Stager would certainly be dead by now!  We recently staged a condo on Vancouver's Westside.  The home owner went out while we worked our magic, but resident kitty stayed to watch over us, making sure we didn't touch her feather ball with the bell in it, or her food dish!  She was certainly not happy that we were moving furniture around to create a better flow, and bringing some rental furniture in to create a lighter, brighter space.   This beautiful kitty was staring … (31 comments)

Vancouver Home Staging-Vacant Condo Before & After Photos
When our Home Staging company arrived at this vacant condo, situated in North Vancouver, B.C., near Lonsdale Quay, we were uninspired by the beige walls and empty, cold looking rooms.  This condo needed to be shaken up with colour, to appeal to a young, hip, buyer demographic.

Of course, we are always inspired by what we see outside the windows, and in this case, this condo had a gorgeous view of the North Shore mountains, with a glimpse to the ocean and downtown city views beyond.  Due to its location, we decided … (31 comments)

Vancouver Aquarium - Colour Inspiration for a Vancouver Home Stager
As a Vancouver Home Stager, I'm always looking for the latest colour trends and great colour combinations.  The best place to find colours that work together and inspire is in nature.  A recent visit to the Vancouver Aquarium opened my eyes to a whole new world of colour combinations.
These jelly fish are a real show stopper.  The complimentary colours, blue and orange, create a vibrant, attention grabbing sight.

The pink, cream and brown combination here is one of my favourites.  Not only are the colours beautiful, but the … (29 comments)
