Lynn Valley North Vancouver Home Staging Canadiana Style
As a North Vancouver Home Stager, I've worked with many unique homes where we need to prepare the home quickly, by staging and getting the home ready and on the market to sell.  This means that often you just need to work with what you're given.  Renovations are often costly and take up a lot of time to complete.  In this particular case, this home, located in Lynn Valley, North Vancouver, had neither time nor budget.  What could staging do to help this Family Room look its very best for selling?

redesign: Atrium At The Pier Condos - Lower Lonsdale, North Vancouver, B.C. - 07/05/12 03:17 PM
Atrium At The Pier Condos - Lower Lonsdale, North Vancouver, B.C.
Atrium at the Pier is one of the latest condo developments in Lower Lonsdale, North Vancouver.  What's so exciting about this new complex?  Why, the location, of course!

Atrium at the Pier is situated right down by the ocean in Lower Lonsdale, where the former Burrard Dry Docks used to be located.  Established in 1905, this is where ship building once took place, including war ships built and refitted during the First & Second World Wars.  The land has since been reclaimed, and is being developped for … (11 comments)

The Design Resource Centre - Vancouver, B.C.
Our City Stagers group recently went on a great field trip.  We visited the Design Resource Centre.  This is a venue where designers can go to pick out the latest in cutting edge fabric, wallpaper, and blinds.  Good quality fabric companies like Robert Allen and Maxwell Fabrics are available here.  We were treated to a myriad of colours and textures.  As Stagers, we always want our designs to look fresh and up-to-date.  An easy way to do this is to purchase some designer fabric, and make cushion covers.  This gives the design a polished, … (19 comments)

redesign: TOP 5 TIPS TO READY YOUR HOME FOR SALE - 03/02/10 02:45 PM
I just wrote this article today for the B.C. Real Estate Convention e-newsletter.  We will be exhibiting in this show, and thought I would share these quick tips.  I created the photos using Picnik, after taking Jackson West's webinar (see his latest Blog).  Enjoy!
TOP 5 TIPS TO READY YOUR HOME FOR SALE
Did you know that 90% of buyers view a listing of a home for sale on the internet before they even decide to visit the home in person?
Once a byers enters a home, they form an opinion of that home within the first 8 seconds.

redesign: Decorating with Red Accessories - Olympic Style! - 02/25/10 04:32 AM

Red Accessories - Olympic Style February 25, 2010, 9:55 am Here is a new twist to adding "red accessories"!  Ok, we're not exactly talking about home staging here.  I just couldn't resist sharing a few photos of my volunteer position here at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games.

Above are two of Canada's finest Royal Canadian Mounted Police, along with myself on the left, and Renee, another happy volunteer on my right, in front of our information booth at B.C. Place.  B.C. Place is home to the Opening & Closing Ceremonies, as well as various official medal presentations.

redesign: The Undefined Room - 01/13/10 12:23 PM
WHAT TO DO WITH AN UNDEFINED ROOM?
Undefined rooms confuse buyers.  They don't exactly know what the room is supposed to be, or how they should employ the room, should they purchase the property. The potential buyer just leaves, shaking their head, more at a loss than when they arrived at the house.  We, as stagers, need to spell these rooms out for potential buyers.  We need to keep it simple.  Here are a few rooms that needed defining:
THIS ROOM WAS CONFUSING.  THERE WAS A PIANO, CHESS BOARD, FIRST NATIONS PADDLES, AND TWO ARMCHAIRS.  IT WAS TOO SMALL FOR A … (19 comments)

redesign: What About the Artwork? - 01/12/10 07:05 AM
I recently staged a townhouse (2500 sq ft - more like a house!).  The townhouse had beautiful finishes - lovely granite countertops, beautiful hardwood floors, a lovely open concept kitchen/family room area.  And yet, why was I left feeling cold?  What was missing?  Aha - the artwork!  Artwork made this townhouse come alive.  It added warmth and personality.  Here are some before and afters.
