This summer, a friend of ours bought a home in Piermont, situated right on the Hudson River. I thought it was an odd buy, as the house was rather small and quite dated, and he paid a bunch for it, presumably for its location and spectacular view of the Hudson and the Tappan Zee Bridge. So I wasn't surprised when one day the demolition crew arrived and started tearing it down. Bastille Day—slated for Saturday, July 14—will commandeer Piermont Avenue from noon to 10 p.m. and feature a parade, traditional eats and a reenactment of the storming of the Bastille.

Piermont has a new restaurant! They have great pizza, homemade pasta and paella dishes. The talented chef has Spanish roots and Tappas are on the menu. Yeah!
We had Lamb Ragout with homemade Pappadelle pasta as take out from the excitingly different menu and were disappointed that they were closed last night as we can’t wait to try more of their tasty dishes. You can eat in too, but BYO as they don’t have a liquor license as yet.
