real estate: My life experiences that led me to...
- 08/04/09 12:58 PM
My life experiences that led me to pursue a degree in business specifically addressing the GREEN MBA program and my carrier intention after graduation. I am not a global thinker; however, I was deeply moved by Al Gore’s movie and care deeply about the environment. I didn’t know how I can make a difference beyond recycling and energy savings in my personal life. When I completed eco-Broker training and learned about building orientation, natural landscaping feature, indoor air pollution, energy efficiency and cost-effective ways green-minded consumers can benefit, I felt that I can begin making a difference in the lives (2 comments)

real estate: I AM NOT MY HOUSE
- 11/14/07 03:53 PM
According to this article in the last Sunday Real Estate section, therapists see increase in patients' stress level over their home values. It points out that more and more people are seeking mental help in managing their level of stress and sleep disorder over to buy or not to buy, and how they can continue paying their existing mortgages. Therapists feel that as real estate equity goes down, persons self-worth can go down too. At the core of all these insecurities is the sense of deprivation: not enough money and diminishing equity, some even afraid to go shopping and buy anything (1 comments)
real estate: Agents help navigate stormy seas of Real Estate Market
- 09/01/07 05:04 AM
September 2007 The mortgage credit markets are going through an unprecedented liquidity crunch brought on by many factors, but mainly attributed to lack of controls in the sub-prime and Alt-A mortgage market. Over the course of the past several weeks, we've seen many lenders, both well run companies and not so well run companies, forced to close as liquidity tightened and loan buybacks increased. We've seen major lenders and investors eliminate loan programs, stiffen qualification standards, and raise rates on jumbo loans. At this point no one can determine the extent to which this liquidity crisis will continue, nor what the exact (0 comments)

It has been an interesting week! The market reacted to the tightening of credit in the mortgage industry and the resulting stricter qualification criteria. Therefore, it is imperative to thoroughly review and understand the financing qualifications and terms for each potential home buyer. In order for any transaction to be closed successfully, buyers will require a real estate professional that is fully informed, knowledgeable and able to provide expert guidance as it relates to the financing aspects of the transaction. In the grand scheme of things the lending industry is following the laws of evolution and the natural selection. The mortgage (0 comments)

- 06/15/07 07:06 AM

As for the economy expect a slowing down: •ü GDP at 3%. •ü Inflation will be up at close to 3%. •ü Bond yield will continue to rise to close to 5%. •ü The stock market will be the "to own" asset. •ü The FED will continue to hold rates and then by mid-year start to lower rates. •ü Mortgages will continue to creep up and may reach 7% by year end. The slowing of the economy is normal for the economy this far mature into a rebound after the recession (0 comments)

real estate: The Marin County housing Market for May 2007
- 05/30/07 12:37 PM
The Marin County real estate market right now is not one market. It is a lot of different markets. One property in Kentfield reportedly had as many as 9 offers and allegedly went into contract about $1million over asking price. Earlier this year, we characterized Kentfield as a buyers' market with bargains to be had by savvy buyers. Right now, Novato is a great area with opportunities for buyers who recognize value when they see it. I have attached the April 30 city-by-city report again for reference. Inventory for SFR's increased again this week and broke the 1000 mark for the first time (0 comments)
real estate: The Marin County housing Market in Review
- 01/22/07 10:17 AM
Let's review the Marin County, California housing market for 2006. After four straight years of soaring prices and robust sales, The Marin County housing market - like real estate throughout the nation - is finally starting coming back down to Earth in 2006. While still strong, we began to see a "normalizing" of the local market, one that will likely continue into 2007, according to industry economists. With median prices in Marin surging 15-20 percent or more each year since 2002, it might have been easy to forget that real estate is a cyclical business. And while we all savored the sharp run-up (2 comments)
