keller williams: Red Day is Coming! Red Day is Coming! - 03/17/11 05:03 AM
Red Day is coming! Red Day is coming! At Keller Williams we celebrate the birthday of Mo Anderson, who is the Vice Chairman of Keller Williams and who founded the affiliated KW Cares, a 501c3 organization, with a day called 'Red Day'. Mo is known for having a true servants heart and it shows in all she touches and in the culture of Keller Williams offices everywhere. So it is only fitting that 'Red Day' is a day of service where agents in every office internationally are encouraged to stop business as usual and dedicate their time and energy to giving … (0 comments)

On these nights, 35 different specialty shops and businesses stay open until 9:30 offering various types of entertainment. Each month, scheduled entertainment is posted at http://www.firstfriday.com/. The entertainment varies, but usually includes many choices for art galleries, live music, wine tastings and more.
In August, my husband and I went and took the kids (ages 3 and 6). We grabbed a light dinner at the historic Georgetown Cafe and headed to the Last Ham Standing, a regulary scheduled monthly improv comedy show at Tally Ho Theatre...and yes, … (0 comments)

There are at least 10 public fireworks displays; and many other festivities being hosted in our various towns, villages and communities.Everywhere you turn this weekend, you'll see red, white and blue. The air will be scented with the smell of charcoal. Quite meadows will come alive with make shift stages and homegrown music. Our local parks will be filled with families and friends. keller williams: Daisies at The Animal Park - 06/26/09 12:32 PM
In Loudoun, we have a few petting zoos including two that are rather popular. Since I live in Leesburg, my family frequents the one here just outside of town, Leesburg Animal Park. It's about 10 minutes from my home. There, the you can see monkeys, huge tortoises, goats, emus, a camel, donkeys, bison and a other exotic creatures. Last year, they were temporarilyhousing white tigers for the national zoo, drawing a lot of press. My family frequently visits at Easter, and nearly all locals attend "Fort Pumpkin" (a Halloween themed event) in the fall; we've even had my daughter's birthday party there. … (0 comments)

keller williams: No More Houses For Sale? - 06/12/09 07:26 AM
On the 10th of each month, MRIS (the MLS for the Washington DC Metropolitan Area) publishes market statistics by region, county and zip code.
Each month, I pull them up, review them, and sometimes incorporate information about the market into my blog. Recently, however, I haven't done that so much. That's because I don't feel like the stats really show what's going on. There's one exception: Listings.
The number of listings is DOWN. Way down. Our inventory is so low right now. At some price points (generally, under $400,000 except for the condo market), it's creating a feeding frenzy among buyers. … (0 comments)

keller williams: Building Your Business without being a Salesman - 05/02/09 04:27 AM
When I think of sales, of course the used car salesman comes to mind. Then, I remember 2 people I love very much - one aunt and one uncle - sister and brother. Please don't mistake anything I am about to say, these people remain INCREDIBLY important and valuable to me... and very loved. BUT, I remember going to family reunions and other events, and sometimes thinking, oh, PLEASE don't ask me.
You see they both always sold something. I remember for my uncle it was Amway and later some herb thing...the button he had on at the family reunion that … (1 comments)

keller williams: Halloween in Leesburg - 11/09/08 12:43 PM
When we moved to Leesburg, no one told us how different Halloween would be. Here, on "All Hallowed Eve", children dress in their costumes, lining the streets of downtown Leesburg, to collect treats thrown to them from passing parade floats. The parade is put on by the local Kiwanis club, and this year, everyone in attendance was asked to bring a canned food item to help fill our local food banks. Most floats are sponsored by local businesses, who are having a little fun promoting their business and giving back to the communities they serve.I'm told that the Leesburg Halloween parade … (0 comments)
