The past several weeks have brought us a lot of rain. It's time for a great summer. Does real estate sell better during the summer and fall months? I've always thought so.
We've already had a great first quarter. Our office is showing that 25% of our sold Springfield Mo real estate are foreclosures, 25% are short sales and the remaining 50% are normal sales.

Receiving a call this week, a friend let me know her real estate property assessment increased over $40,000, while the market has actually decreased in the past 4 years. She has until the end of May to contest the increase that will affect the amount of taxes she will pay in the future.
Needless to say, it's a little shocking for so many residents to find themselves facing higher taxes.
According to an article I read, Greene County is just catching up.

Getting HUD To Help Stop Charging Fees To Extend Closings When It's NOT The Buyer's Fault! Most everyone knows that HUD changed their way of closing homes this past year. Now there are several companies that are servicing foreclosures for HUD....one of these servicing companies is charging to extend contracts.
My office has a large number of HUD foreclosures waiting to be closed. We have qualifed buyers (some cash buyers) that, due to no fault of the buyers, are waiting for title work to be completed through Northwest Title.
