Four Mile Canyon Fire Relief Center Volunteers Today, there is a drop off center located at 3111 28th Street in Boulder. If you are thinking about making a donation; items are very much still needed. Items needed included all types of clothing for babies through adult, diapers, paper products, bath products, personal hygiene items, bedding, toys, and school supplies.
Our Keller Williams office has been participating all day at the relief site, receiving donations, and sorting them into the appropriate bins so they can be taken to the distribution centers where fire victims can pick them up.

For the first time in almost two years, the unemployment rate dropped in both Boulder and Broomfield Counties. According to the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, the April 2009 unemployment rate dropped 0.6% in Boulder County (down to 5.7%) and 0.5% in Broomfield County (down to 6.7%). Statewide, the Colorado unemployment rated dropped 0.3% (to 7.3%). Although the rates are still considerable higher than they were last year at the same time (3.5% in Boulder County and 3.9% in Broomfield County), we are definitely headed in the right direction.

boulder: Local unemployment rates increase.......

Although local unemployment rates jumped in January, they remain consistently lower than the national level. Boulder County's unemployment rate increased almost a full percentage point rising to 5.8 percent from 4.9 percent in December. Broomfield County's unemployment rate also increased the same amount reaching a level of 6.5 percent from December's level of 5.6 percent. Both counties still fall below the state wide level for Colorado (now at 7.2 percent) as well as the national average of 7.6 percent.
