buyer agent: Fall Housing Market 2014 - 10/04/14 12:38 PM
The Fall housing market 2014 is more balanced than Spring and Summer of this year. Marshall and I are seeing it first hand. We are exclusive buyer agents with Buyer's Edge in Bethesda. We work only for home buyers who faced bidding wars for houses in the Spring and Summer. It was challenging especially when the low inventory. But
The Fall Housing Market 2014 Looks Good for Home Buyers Quick funny story. This summer, I took clients on an eight house tour. The homes were in Rockville, Potomac and Kensington Maryland, neighborhoods just outside of Washington DC. At the second house … (0 comments)

buyer agent: What Home Buyers Should Know about Lenders - 10/01/14 02:50 AM
What Home Buyers Should Know about Lenders

First a disclaimer:  Home Buyers always choose their lender. Your agent may recommend preferred lenders, people they like to work with, but ultimately your lender is your choice.

And you should shop around and compare rates and fees! You do not have to close with the lender that pre-approves your mortgage.

Point #1   We like working with our preferred lenders because they offer competitive rates and loans while taking excellent care of our clients.  In turn, our lenders like working with us because we bring them business.
This cooperative relationship creates a … (4 comments)

Even if you can't answer her questions or solve her problems-you've shown her that you care.

buyer agent: It's National Wellness Week - 09/16/14 09:06 AM
It's National Wellness Week

Why should people working in the real estate business care about National Wellness Week? If you are doing your job well, you know exactly why it is important to stay physically and emotionally healthy.

Summers can be brutal in Washington DC. This past summer, on one particularly hot and humid day, I  climbed many flights of stairs in my quest to find the perfect condo for my clients. We covered several neighborhoods and over 11 buildings. I was a sweaty mess by the end of the day but I did it!
Thanks to the … (2 comments)

Five Easy Ways to Generate Leads

Generating leads is a large part of the real estate business. How can you work with clients and find time to generate leads? It's easier than you think.

1.  Give away free stuff-
My Broker told me a funny story. He had a previous client call and ask for help buying a home. The client said, "I have all this Buyer's Edge stuff in my house. When we wanted to buy a new home you were already on my mind!"
I keep pre wrapped Buyer's Edge mugs in my car-just in case I have … (5 comments)

Beautiful Neighborhoods in Washington DC

My YouTube Channel features videos of beautiful neighborhoods in the Washington DC area. There are so many! Each with it's unique flavor, history and style.
Yesterday, Marshall and I took pictures in Old Town Alexandria.

Alexandria Virginia sits along the Potomac River, a few miles from D.C. Walking along the cobble stoned streets with gas street lights, it feels like you've stepped back in time. The city was founded in 1749 and many of the houses and restaurants date back to the early 1800's.
I love showing off the old homes and remodeled townhomes … (0 comments)

Using Your "Senses" When Buying a Home
With over a foot of snow still on the ground, house hunting in the Greater Washington DC Area is a real challenge. In addition to pulling boots off and on at each home listing, the yards are covered in snow making it impossible to really see the front and back yards. However, this time of year provides us with an awesome opportunity. We should use our senses to discover your new home!
Buying a Home Should Engage all of Your Senses
We will begin with the NOSE. What are you smelling when you are in … (0 comments)

A Mindful Approach to the Real Estate Business
At Buyer's Edge, Washington's Premier Exclusive Buyer Brokerage, we take our work seriously. So the fact that another Edgie and I were watching the National Zoo's Panda Cam while eating chocolate at the office.....pure research. After all, Washington DC is the Nations Capitol. We need to stay up on current events and little Bao Bao is the talk of our town! Sooooo adorable with her little fuzzy panda fur...but after some time, our conversation shifted to the real estate business.
The Real Estate business is like most other businesses with times of stress … (4 comments)

Volunteer- Lead Positive Change for You and Your Community
I live in Montgomery County Maryland one of the most affluent counties in the United States. With that kind of distinction, you would think all the residents would know that littering is a bad thing. It's ugly, sets a bad example for kids and it's bad for the soul. But even in this affluent county, people litter. It's a fact. Some people toss beer cans in the woods, not the recycling bin, because it's easier.
This presents us with a few choices
We can feel sad & self righteous then angry  We can complain … (5 comments)
