buyers edge: Exclusive Buyer Agents in Takoma Park Md - 04/08/15 09:56 PM
Takoma Park is a city in Maryland & Washington D.C.
When you are buying a home in Maryland, Washington D.C. or Virginia, you hope to buy a home in a vibrant community. Takoma Park Maryland and Takoma Park Washington DC residents are passionate about their town. For one thing, Takoma Park has counter culture roots. Back in the 60's, Takoma Park looked like a mini version of Haight Street in San Francisco.
Today, the city still has a post-hippy vibe but with business booming. The tree lined streets with Victorians and stately old homes are updated and home prices are on the rise. You can … (0 comments)

buyers edge: Would You Buy a House without a Living Room? - 04/07/15 02:54 AM
Are Formal Living Rooms History?
In the Greater Washington DC area, we are witnessing a shift in the way we use the rooms in our homes. In fact, over the last decade walls have literally come down. Gone are the days when a suitor would wait in a parlor or formal living room. Today, it's all about open space-flow from kitchen to family room to porch or deck.
We have large entertainment spaces not separate rooms for certain activities.
Our home buyers are asking about the "extra room" in the front of the house. One client measures formal living rooms to see if they … (42 comments)

buyers edge: #LivingWashingtonDC - 04/02/15 10:54 PM
Advantages of Living in the Nations Capitol
Washington D.C. is beautiful in the Spring!  I took part of the day off yesterday to be a tourist. My daughter and I toured the National Gallery of Art, the American History Museum, the Sculpture Garden, the Hirshhorn and the Freer & Sackler Galleries. That's where we met this guy.....
He's about 8 feet tall and as you can see, pretty darn intimidating! The Freer & Sackler Galleries display amazing art from Asia. There are Buddha statues and busts dating back to 350-500 AD. The building has a central garden & courtyard which is where we … (0 comments)

buyers edge: Associate Broker with a Radio Past - 03/31/15 04:40 AM
Licensed Associate Broker with a 20+ career in Radio & Voice Overs
Like so many women and some men, I changed my name when I married. In most cases, this is not a big deal. Many people hyphenate their name making it easy for friends to track them down.
In my case however, it was a bit of an identity crisis
For 20++ years, I had a radio career. I was 17 years old when I landed my first radio job, and it was a fluke. I was a Music/Undecided major in college and saw a handwritten sign that read,
"Can you pronounces these names: … (4 comments)

Can I Read the HOA Documents Prior to Writing a Contract?
Our client asked this question last week. The answer, in short-No. But it is a reasonable questions to ask. Winter Storm Warning in Effect...
We have had a long cold winter in Washington DC.
I cannot remember a time in years past when the ground was snow covered for weeks.
My clients really want to buy a home and I really want to help but bad weather, for the past two weekends, has hampered our efforts. So despite the forecast for snow and freezing rain, we set out to tour eight houses.
