Balancing Work & Life Is A Challenge
 
In the business of real estate, it's a challenge to carve out time for yourself. Just today, I checked my schedule and then rechecked the calendar to be sure I could spend the hour and a half it takes to get a manicure and pedicure. When I settled into the chair and relaxed, it was great! 
It had been too long since I gave myself some time to recharge and I'm reminded that I should practice what I preach!

Relatives from Seattle were in town last night and I did the unthinkable - 
I turned off my cellphone for several hours. 
 
Sure,  it was a bold move. I intentionally unplugged from my busy day. But since our daughter was sitting next to me at the dinner table, I knew nothing too important would be missed. 
What a joy! Taking the time to fully enjoy conversation, food and people!

All of us want to be loved, respected and successful. How do we develop these qualities in our lives? We can read motivational books or listen and watch inspiring Ted talks to get advice. The challenge is applying all this great advice in our everyday lives. 
Search Inside Yourself, is not a self help book. 
The author, Chade-Meng Tan is not a monk or a spiritual leader. He is an engineer with Google who wrote this book as a practical guide to achieving success, happiness and world peace:)

A Mindful Approach to the Real Estate Business
At Buyer's Edge, Washington's Premier Exclusive Buyer Brokerage, we take our work seriously. So the fact that another Edgie and I were watching the National Zoo's Panda Cam while eating chocolate at the office.....pure research. After all, Washington DC is the Nations Capitol. We need to stay up on current events and little Bao Bao is the talk of our town! Sooooo adorable with her little fuzzy panda fur...but after some time, our conversation shifted to the real estate business.
