real estate virtual assistant: How NOT to Promote Your Real Estate Business! - 03/03/10 09:07 AM
I'm sure you have heard the quote 'Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.' I believe this is true. I also believe it has limits. One of the limits is copying text off the Home page of my real estate virtual assistant website without asking my permission. At first, I was not a happy camper as you can imagine. On taking a second look, it became hysterical. Here is why... I received an email from a virtual assistant friend of mine. I read:
Hello,
This website is stealing some of your content : http://colvas.com/default.aspx. The person left in the links … (4 comments)

real estate virtual assistant: Do You Recommend Sellers Be Home During Showings? Gary Keller Does - 03/01/10 08:46 AM
When I heard Gary Keller, author of the best-selling "Shift: How Top Real Estate Agents Tackle Tough Times" and owner of Keller Williams Realty, was going to be on "Good Morning America" last week, I was anxious to hear what he had to what he had to say about how people can sell in a buyer's market. I was not only surprised but shocked to hear Gary Keller recommend sellers be present during showings of their homes. During my 17 years as a licensed Realtor®, common wisdom was for sellers NOT to be home and it leave the showings up to … (12 comments)

real estate virtual assistant: Real Estate Virtual Assistant Buzz: Detours on the Road to Real Estate Success - 02/08/10 09:17 AM
Real Estate Virtual Assistant Buzz:
Do you remember the brisk Buyers Market of a few years ago? Buyers were beating down your doors. Anyone who could breathe had a real estate license and was selling homes. Then the market went south. Buyers were no where to be found and your pipeline of new business dried up because you hadn’t been doing any marketing. You had neither the time nor the need to keep your name out there. A tougher real estate market requires getting back to basics and evaluating what works in our new reality and what doesn’t.

real estate virtual assistant: What Happens When Your Real Estate Assistant Is On Vacation? - 06/14/08 02:11 AM
Last night about 9PM, I was working on marketing a listing (Listing Coordination) for one of my clients. Why so late? I have a Team of four real estate Virtual Assistants that work with me. One of them is on vacation this week...something well deserved! And the husband of another is in the hospital. Understandably, she is not focused on her virtual assistant work this week either.
If these women were working as in-house assistants or maybe even working on other virtual assistant Teams, the real estate agent, whose work needed to be completed, would be working on the marketing his … (2 comments)

real estate virtual assistant: To Advertise or Not To Advertise…That Is The Question - 04/03/08 09:18 AM
To advertise or not to advertise your listings in your real estate blog...that is the question. Many real estate bloggers tell you not to advertise your listings in your blog. Why? The purpose of a blog is to build relationships, not to sell. This may be true for your community blogger talking about community events or your political blogger ranting and raving about current events, but not for your real estate blog. The keyword being real estate!
Who visits real estate blogs?
Visitors who enjoy a particular community or political blogger will most likely visit that blog on an ongoing basis...probably until they … (4 comments)

real estate virtual assistant: What's In A Name? - 03/17/08 06:21 AM
What's in a Name?
What's in a name? EVERYTHING when it comes to the domain name for your blog! Actually, it is only EVERYTHING IF you want your blog to make you money...and of course that is the point, isn't it?  Your blog domain, title and site description need to be keyword rich in order to please the ‘Internet Gods'...search engines. Blogs can be search engine magnets, but only if they are keyword rich. You may be asking yourself, what constitutes keyword rich? Generally speaking, your best keywords are your farm area plus the words ‘real estate.' Example: Virginia Beach real estate, Orange … (24 comments)

real estate virtual assistant: Is Your House Made Of Bricks? (Why Your Blogging Platform Matters) - 03/13/08 02:03 AM
Blogging became popular in the real estate community about 3 years ago and we have come a long way. One thing I have learned is how important your blogging platform is. Just like it mattered to the 3 Little Pigs if their house was made of straw, wood or bricks, it matters to you what blogging platform you are on.  For this example, I have broken down blogging platforms into 3 types: website integrated, free platforms and paid platforms with SEO optimization built in.
1. Website IntegratedWebsite integrated platforms do not have a separate, keyword rich url of their own, but are internal pages … (0 comments)

real estate virtual assistant: Neighborhood Walkability - 08/15/07 10:41 PM
WalkScore.com is a fun website that helps people find walkable places to live. Type in any address and Walk Score shows you a map of what's nearby...stores, movie theaters, parks, restaurants, schools and more. Then it calculates a Walk Score for this address.
Walking is good for our health and our environment. What home buyer wouldn't want to know the amenities that are close by. To quote Walk Score, "Picture a walkable neighborhood. You lose weight each time you walk to the grocery store. You stumble home from last call without waiting for a cab. You spend less money on your … (2 comments)

real estate virtual assistant: A More Affordable Real Pro Systems - 06/28/07 11:21 PM
In the last couple of weeks, the back office of the Real Pro Systems websites I work on changed to read 'Real Pro Gold' instead of just Real Pro Systems.  I figured something must be coming but hadn't heard any rumors about it.
Then, I received an email offering a more affordable Real Pro Systems website that looks like a great deal.  This option, Real Pro Silver, does not include the stealth sites, but the basic site looks the same as the original product.  If you already have a Real Pro site, the stealth sites may not be of interest to you anyway. … (6 comments)

real estate virtual assistant: Marketing To Your 'First Class Clients' - 04/29/07 09:04 AM
The cost of a first class postage stamp is due to increase 2 cents on May 14, 2007, increasing from 39 cents to 41 cents. This is the perfect opportunity for you to remind your First Class Clients how important they are to you.
Send your clients a "My 2 Cents" letter letting them know about the rate increase and include a few 2 cent stamps. This rather small investment will bring big returns. You will get brownie points for your creativity,  for your thoughtfulness,  and for saving them time and money.
Like the idea, but don't have time to implement it. Let a … (7 comments)
