richmond va real estate: Expectations for Real Estate in 2014 - 01/12/14 09:00 PM
The deep freeze that gripped our area last week may not be the most convincing herald of good things to come, but I believe we are in for a strong, still-recovering housing market this year. I made some general predictions for 2014 on New year's eve, but I'd like to take some time today to look at what is approaching in the coming months, especially once we thaw into spring.

I am not being impatient, when I ask for feedback from you as a buyer for the seller. All you have to say is I am doing some research. Agents call with in 24 hours of showing a property and want feedback from me as to your thoughts. That agent has called several times. I explained that I had not spoken to you, to see if you had any thoughts on the properties we looked at last weekend.

Condo investments for Virginia Commwealth University or Medical College of Virginia Perhaps you are a Student or real-estate savvy Parent investor.

 Consider buying one of the hip new condos for your Student instead or dorms or Apartments .
Much better than paying someone else's mortgage or high dorm fees. Students are not promised dorms after the first year here. It is possible to actually sell at a profit after graduating and reduce your students loan amounts. Some buzz words... Local, recycled, long lasting, low impact, low voc emissions.
Check out the U.S. Green Building Council for new updates.
We will see more engineered floor joists, stronger, straighter,more stable, with more design choices.
Composite boards will also be used more. The parks system is actually using these boards to wind through low grounds for walking paths. Much better than salt treated.
Flooring, look for new bamboo prefinished with almost indestructible coatings.Linoleum is also back but not your mother's old style, but new high grade long lasting.
