stuart: South Florida Orchestra To Present ‘Serenade to Spring’

Guests are sure to go away snapping and singing to their favorite tunes during an April 7, 2013, concert by the Indian River Pops Orchestra, featuring guest vocalist Lorianna Colozzo.
At 7 p.m., the Indian River Pops Orchestra will present “Serenade to Spring,” featuring music from Richard Rodgers and Andrew Lloyd Weber, along with other American-songbook masters. The music will celebrate the beauty and blossoming of Spring.
The Indian River Pops Orchestra is based in Stuart and performs in Palm Beach Gardens at the Eissey Campus Theatre. Tickets cost $25. For information, call 561-207-5900.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Martin County recently had its Youth of the Year Dinner & Ceremony at Indian River State College in Stuart.
The nonprofit organization’s signature recognition program for teen club members honored girls from Hobe Sound (South Fork High School), Indiantown (South Fork High School), Palm City (Clark Advanced Learning Center), Port Salerno (Anderson Middle School) and Stuart (Jensen Beach High School.) Its goal is to cultivate character, personality growth and leadership skills qualities.

Stuart was recently named America's most beautiful city in its size-class in the national America in Bloom competition. Beating out all other cities with populations between 5,000 and 25,000, Stuart claimed its award on Saturday October 4th in Columbus, Ohio. The award was accepted by Stuart City Commissioner Mary Hutchinson.
America in Bloom is a national non-profit organization focused on promoting beautification programs and community involvement.
