As millions of baby boomers begin the transition into their golden years, “retirement” is a word that is falling out of favor.
Today’s sixty-year-olds, the active generation that brought us the mountain bike, jogging and the snowboard, are redefining retirement (think of it now as Retirement 2.0). As they downshift from corporate careers and downsize their homes, they are also redefining where people of this new retirement generation spend this next phase in their lives.

waterville valley nh: Time to vote for NH's "Best Of" - 02/25/09 12:36 AM
I subscribe to New Hampshire Magazine and especially enjoy their annual "Best Of" issue, which features everything from the state's best sports bar to the best NH celebrity.
Waterville Valley, NH has made it to the "Best Of" list a couple of times when the Coyote Grill's Calamari was voted Best Exotic Appetizer by readers in 2001 and Editor’s Pick for Best Spring Rolls in 2003. However, more often than not, the "Best Of" lists are populated by southern New Hampshire businesses and people. But, we can change that!

waterville valley nh: Waterville Valley, NH: Cross-country Skiing Paradise - 02/24/09 11:54 PM
My best cross-country correspondent is not so bullish on Gunstock’s on-mountain X-C complex. Rather, he is a huge fan of relatively nearby Waterville Valley’s (NH) X-C area and the North Conway region’s famed Jackson and Bretton Woods touring centers.
Here’s his latest report: “We just completed the ‘Holy Trinity’ of New England cross-country skiing — Waterville on Saturday, Jackson on Sunday and Bretton Woods on Monday.  That was probably the best cross-country skiing of the year. This coming weekend should offer more of the same."
