I am been following the St. Louis Cardinals since the early 60's and this game last nite had to be one of the best I've seen.  Two starting pitchers who once played on the same team and are actually good friends.  Both pitched a great game and it was a shame that one of them had to lose.  Halliday gave up 2hits and the ONE and only run of the game in the first inning and after that both were lights out!  Chris Carpenter went the distance for the Cardinals giving up a total of only 3 hits.

baseball: Holy Cow!! Cardinals still alive in the playoffs! - 10/05/11 07:18 PM
Well for a team that only barely snuck into the playoffs, the St. Louis Cardinals have been giving the Phillies all they can handle.  Not surprizing tho, all year the Redbirds have done well this year against good teams and lost many while playing against sub par teams.  Game 5 will be played in Philly on Friday with both teams starting their former Cy Young award winning pitchers.  It looks to be a really good game!   Go Cards!

I can't remember the World Series ever going to November, but Congratulations to the Giants and their Fans!
Altho I'm a long time Cardinal Fan, I'm glad to see 2 teams in it that usually don't make it!  This was the first time for the Rangers and over 50 years since the Giants have won!   Even when the Cards don't make it, I still root for the National League team, unless of course the Cubs ever get there!  I'm sure they will sometime before the end of this century!   It was great to see Edgar get the MVP of the series … (0 comments)
