asset investment trust: BlitherNet.com - 01/17/11 07:30 AM
For the past few years, www.BlitherNet.com has been a combination of Social Network, Real Estate Site, and Classified Ad page, but the site has leaned heavily toward the classified ads.  Although it's been down for about 90 days, we haven't stopped working on making it better and are currently in pre-launch.
We expect to compete with Craigslist and Backpage for the number one classified ad site in the US.  We have allocated a large budget to advertising that will begin with the official launch this Spring.  In the mean time, you're invited to join and post for free.

asset investment trust: Assets are more than Real Estate - 05/31/10 10:37 AM

If you think “Asset Protection” only means protecting your real estate, then you need to read this post.
Assets include much more than houses.  Your assets include cars, boats, antiques, stocks, cash and anything else you own.  If you own something, it’s an asset.
Many judgments have been settled through the seizure of assets other than real estate.  Many states have homestead laws that prevent seizure of someone’s residence, but this protection doesn’t extend to other assets and everything else can still be at risk.
Stocks, bonds, antiques, vehicles, and more can all be seized to settle a judgment – … (1 comments)

asset investment trust: Placing Assets in Trust without Giving up Control - 05/29/10 05:06 AM
Using a Director

Many people are concerned about giving up control of their asset by placing title into a land trust and this is a factor you must consider.  As the owner, you make all decision about the property, you sign documents and you control everything.  Using a trust, this control may be passed to another person and that may not be what you want; however, there is a way around this.

Typical trusts have Trustees who are directed by the beneficiary; however, if you remain as the beneficiary, then a court may find the trust invalid.  This is … (0 comments)

It’s intended to provide information regarding Land and Personal Property Trusts and there use for Estate Planning, Asset Protection and Privacy.
Although some believe the ancient Egyptians were the first to en“trust” their property to each other, Julius Caesar is credited with creating the first “Trust” and appointing someone to manage his property in his absence. During the reign of King Henry VIII, landowners began to transfer ownership of their property to avoid having to serve in the king’s … (4 comments)

I’m sure many of you already know the benefits of networking and connecting online. I’ve been using Plaxo for about 5 years and accumulated more than 7900 “Connections”. Facebook, MySpace and other social networking sites are quickly becoming serious considerations for marketing.
Between Plaxo, MySpace, Facebook and ActiveRain it’s a wonder I ever get any work done.

asset investment trust: Spam and My Blog Postings - 01/22/09 01:13 AM
Asset Investment Trust (www.AssetInvestmentTrust.com) is focused on provided Estate Planing, Asset Protection and Privacy to property owners and in doing so we often Blog here on ActiveRain and other places.
Why do people insist on posting non-related replies to a blog?
I have received responses from my blogs that ranged from selling makeup to selling oil painting services and just wonder if this is a problem that other people have.
Some responses are on target and welcomed; however, there doesn’t seem to be a way to stop the inappropriate replies from coming through.
Does anyone have any ideas?

asset investment trust: Privacy – Asset Investment Trust - 01/21/09 01:06 PM
Protecting what you don’t own. This post is the Intellectual Property of Asset Investment Trust (“AIT”) and intended to provide information regarding Land and Personal Property Trusts and there use for Estate Planning, Asset Protection and Privacy.
I keep getting the same question – “Why should I use a trust? I have an LLC.”
Do you remember creating your LLC? You have to ask the permission of the state. You have to reserve the name. You probably had to disclose at least some of the people involved in the business. You had to disclose the “Registered Agent” because the state needs … (0 comments)

Deducting What Others Do Not Do you have pets? Would you like to deduct expenses associated with them? Do you have a hobby, SCUBA Diving, Biking, Boating, Etc? Would you like to deduct the expenses associated with your hobby? Maybe you can.
I’m not an attorney or a CPA. This isn’t intended to be legal advice. This post simply explains what my personal practices are regarding certain expenses most people do not deduct.
First – Dogs
I’ve mentioned in previous posts that I raise Miniature Doberman Pinchers. These puppies are sold to buyers across the country. Not only is this … (0 comments)

asset investment trust: Asset Investment Trust – Self-funding using your IRA - 01/13/09 12:53 PM
Using IRA Funds to Purchase Real Estate
Did you know that you can invest your qualified IRA and 401k retirement plans into Real Estate and other investment opportunities?
Most people invest their money with a financial advisor who tells them exactly what to invest their money into. This is great, but these advisors will educate people on their products and will advise them to invest into the things their companies typically offer. They do not offer much education on opportunities that do not benefit them. This is understandable, but it doesn't give you the entire picture.
Here is the reader's digest … (2 comments)

asset investment trust: Estate Planning - Asset Investment Trust - 01/13/09 08:23 AM
Daily Nugget
Since January is Planning month for many of us, consider your financial future and your estate.  Speak with an attorney knowledgeable in trust law.  Keep in mind that most attorneys will tell you to use an LLC; however, this only limits YOUR liability from the asset.  It does not limit the asset from your liability.  It is also part f your estate and taxable at your death.
Trusts bypass probate and avoid enheiritance taxes.

asset investment trust: Asset Investment Trust – The Attorney Question - 01/12/09 04:56 AM
“Do I need an attorney to create a trust?” “Can I do this myself?” The short answer is “No” you don’t need an attorney and “Yes” you can create your own trusts; however, many factors must be considered.
1st – Trusts are legal documents and they control and convey the ownership (Title) of real or personal property. Trusts can tremendously affect your taxes and net worth. Any time you consider transfer of a property you should consider the legal ramifications and may want to consult an attorney or CPA, but you want to make sure they are well versed in Trusts … (2 comments)
