Laborless Monday - Otter Nonsense

If you have been in real estate longer than it takes to eat a doughnut, you will know that holidays for others doesn't mean we will get to share in that day off.
Organized real estate has been around for well over 100 years and I think the issue of when we work is not always dictated by the calendar of what day it is.
When consumers think it is time to consult to sell or get together to buy a house, the day they want to connect is the day it is most convenient for … (19 comments)

The Voice of San Diego Real Estate | Seeing the Beauty Within
One of the services I provide to my home sellers is getting the property staged to look it's best for market. It can be a challenge but I believe that there is always beauty within and it is my job to find it.
I spent of my clients money approx $1200 to achieve this look and it is even more interesting that most of it was spent elsewhere through the home. Kitchen, Baths and Master Bedroom.
My client was rewarded and quite ecstatic  when the new reveal brought the highest price … (20 comments)

the voice of san diego real estate: It's Like Grand Central Station at the Hummingbird Feeders - Photo Added 1-27-2014 - 01/26/14 08:42 AM
Grand Central at the Hummingbird Feeders
This all started about a week ago. I have been keeping my Hummingbird feeders filled with the Red Nectar that I purchased at the Pet Store. I got the idea since I was running low to give a try to making my own. The recipe calls for 4 parts water and 1 part sugar. I don't use sugar so I had to go buy it. In the process I found this organic sugar and figured it might be better than the cane sugar. So I bought it and thought I would give it a try. … (34 comments)

La Jolla Coastal Resident Taking Time to Smell The Flowers

Last evening, the sunset was outrageous. Regretfully I was leaving a listing as I saw it and it was too late to get there. So I had time late today and thought I might get a repeat show.
It was apparent when I got there that there was no clouds but just overcast haze, no sunset was going to be showing much today. While I was waiting to see if there was going anything work taking photos of, I was entertained twice. Right below where I was standing in my sheltered … (35 comments)

This is an old You Tube Ad that I have updated and I am adding this into my signature line for all my e-mails. I thought this would really spruce it up and add so visual interest to my e-mails. For those of you wondering, I don't know if You Tube still offers making these self marketing videos anymore but I was looking at all the Google links for The Voice of San Diego Real Estate and spotted it as something I had done several years ago. It still looks and sounds fun so I am about to put a link … (9 comments)

Taking Care of Bees-ness in San Diego
The San Diego real estate market has been all a-buzz and heating up for several months and Sellers of San Diego Homes and Condominiums would be wise to consider bringing their homes on market if they want to take advantage of the built-up Buyer demand.
With interests rates likely to go up, San Diego Home Buyers have been incentivised to buy now while the interest rates remain low. So why aren't more Buyers Buying? Because inventory is at an all time low. If you need to sell, don't miss this great opportunity available to you to … (17 comments)

the voice of san diego real estate: Which Witch is Which? - 10/26/11 12:31 PM
It's soon to be All Hallows Eve and while driving to my Open House this past weekend,  I came upon this Witch. I couldn't tell for sure if she was a good Witch or a bad Witch because as witches go, I can't tell them apart. She was dressed sort of nice. So perhaps you know, which Witch is which? Is this a Good Witch or a Bad Witch? Which ever Witch she is, Come All Hallows Eve, I hope she hasn't cast a spell to turn me into an ugly worm, hehehehehe.

Lazy Days of Summer

Yesterday afternoon, I stopped over to our Safari Park to photographically capture more of it's many opportunities to see and experience the wild animals in the place they call home. With many photos of the animals already taken, catching this lion resting out in the lawn area of his camp, reminded me of our own Lazy Days of Summer when all we want to do is relax and to get away from the daily grind.
I was speaking with Kerrie Greenhalgh of ActiveRain this morning about her wonderful photo journey abroad last month and how important … (52 comments)

The Voice of San Diego Real Estate Suggests That the Purpose of Home Remodeling has Changed
Over the decades past we have seen neighborhood revitalization take place first starting with a homeowner remodeling the home to increase the value. Today, we are seeing more and more remodeling being done out of necessity with less emphasis for increased value and more to fulfill the family's needs.
And interestingly, many of the improvements and additions are not adding to the value like times past.  And depending on neighborhood and the very localized market, many of the additions are making little difference in the … (7 comments)

Memorial Day 2011
This enormous parcel of land as the nations newest national cemetery opened this past March and they interred the newest causalities of the Afghanistan War.
Adjacent to the Miramar Naval Air Station, this cemetery has daily fly overs of jets and helicopters but todays flyover was several vintage planes.

The Inspiration of a Seedling

I took this inspirational photo from a ski lift in the Sierra Nevada Mountains and it so impressed me that this little tree survives in the most difficult of environments and seems to be a testament to will power.
In many of our lives,  we very often encounter circumstances that are so untenable that we just have no ability to rationalize a solution. But a steadfast belief that you can overcome most any obstacle can very often lead to some remarkable results.
The pine seedling that fell into the crack in these rocks obviously found … (36 comments)

When the Weather Outside is Delightful.....
The beginning of Summer is not until Jun 21st but who cares when the mean temperature is almost in the 80's and people want to get out an enjoy the sunshine and all the beautiful places in Southern California we have been craving to visit for months.Water, sand and sun.

Those of us that live in Southern California welcome all the exciting activities associated with the warmer weather and mostly, it gives hundreds of thousands of people a chance to shed their street wear and trade it in for swimwear, shorts and flip … (16 comments)

One of the awesome rewards we sometimes receive in our career from our clients comes in the form of a letter. I received this from a client yesterday and we forget sometimes how our careers actually impact others lives as well as our own.
These clients were referred from another past client and from the moment I met them I felt proud to be a REALTOR®. I told them that part of my success in the business is getting the home staged to showcase it, pricing it right and then exposing the property to the broadest market possible.
Those are not … (31 comments)
