It was very obvious at the International Builder Show in Orlando that the general trend was  moving towards smaller homes and looking for imaginative storage spaces and living areas, and the formal dining room may fall victim to this trend.  Dining rooms seem to be reducing in appeal as people wish more “casual” eating spaces.
“Dining rooms are definitely on the way out,” said Joe Digrado, Danielian Associates’ design coordinator, at the International Builders’ Show in Orlando Friday. “Ask your buyer if they really need one. In some markets they do. But many prefer an open, flexible space that will serve … (9 comments)

4 bedroom homes: JACKSON LABS IN NAPLES FL - 12/31/10 03:22 PM

The state of Florida has so far approved $50 million for Jackson Labs under certain conditions, and with a budget deficit in Florida I cannot help the feeling that tens of millions of dollars for Jackson Labs may not feature high on the legislature's list of priorities whne the session opens next March.  So, will the citizens of Collier County be asked to raise even more money than the $130 million the County Commissioners have announced?
Not many people in Collier County are against Jackson Labs as such, but many question the way this has been handled, the missing business … (0 comments)

ho does not like Orchids - these fascinating, exotic blooms?

A colleague recently sent me an advertisement for a course of  at my local Orchid Society, teaching basic Orchid Culture.  She thought I might like to attend and also that it may make a good (customer) present for a plant lover.
This prompted me to do some research, and I have found that there are Orchid Societies all over the United States, Canada, Europe and Australia, and many of them do offer courses.
If you have friends, or customers, who adore orchids, and wish to enrich their lives with more … (3 comments)

4 bedroom homes: ActiveRain Group name changes - 12/01/10 10:09 AM

I found this post when searching for the way to change the name of a group.  I liked it so much that I am reblogging it to give more agents the opportunity to profit from it.

In perusing ActiveRain's 6,037 groups during the past few weeks and creating my Top 101 list, I found out that we could not only edit the group information, look at the group members, send a mass email to the group emails, and change the group logo, but we can also change the name of the group, and that's exactly what I did with the … (0 comments)

Phillis Lerner's blog makes some very good points. The advantage of heavily discounted non-short-sale and non-bank owned properties is that the deasl ususally goes through withour special contracts and addenda, and without delays and hick-ups!

Via Phyllis Lerner, Realtor - Broker / Owner - Westchester County NY (Legends Realty Group LLC): In the quest to find a heavily-discounted home for sale, many buyers today are looking almost exclusively for short sales or bank-owned properties. But since, in most cases, the banks in question have already agreed to take a loss, it is likely there won't be room for much … (1 comments)
