Remodeling Magazine, in partnership with NAR, have published their 2010 Remodeling Cost vs. Value survey, and are warning not to go overboard with pre-selling renovations.The survey reported that remodels done in 2010 will only recoup around 60% of their price when the property sells.  The kitchen and the bathroom are usually the two rooms that people remodel before selling.  Dan Stewart of Pillar to Post Home Inspections suggest that sellers should update the basics,  declutter nad hire a professional cleaning company to make tiles etc. sparkle.
