You're moving...what do you do with the Household Hazardous Waste?

First, what is Household Hazardous Waste (HHW)? This link is from the US Environmental Protection Agency.
There are obvious ones such as paint,; but did you know moth balls and toilet cleaners are HHW too?

Second, when is HHW pick-up in New Hampshire?  This link is the NH Spring 2007 Schedule of HHW Collections.
It lists NH towns, dates & times of pick up, and the coordinator's name and contact info. If your NH town is not on the list, call the NH Dept of Environmental Services Waste Management Division @ … (8 comments)

new hampshire: Staging Commercial Properties in NH - 04/11/07 03:33 PM
Home staging can creatively solve design problems in commercial spaces too. Today in Hampton, NH I met with Robin Moyer Ratigan, a NH Occupational Therapist who has opened a business called Capable Kids. By helping pre-schoolers with fine and gross motor skills, she is helping our community by decreasing the number of children that need the "Readiness" program (which is funded by our school budget). We need Robin Moyer Ratigan.
Her commercial staging needs: coming up with a design for her waiting area that can entertain active little ones while keeping Mom and/or Dad comfortable and happy. She needs big design … (14 comments)

new hampshire: Home Staging Business Owners...Identifying our Challenges in 2007 - 03/23/07 06:55 AM
After registering for an entrepreneurial business course, I started writing down the challenges we face as home staging business owners in 2007:
Finding platforms to educate the public about the benefits of home staging.Becoming an accepted part of every real estate transaction (just as appraisals and home inspections have been added and retained over the years to assist buyers and sellers).Gaining respect and trust from agents, to foster a team approach to market real estate.Developing a Home Staging business model that is fairly consistent on a national level (pricing, education, code of ethics to assure privacy...) new hampshire: Are You Green, or Are You Just Hip? - 03/12/07 01:09 AM
There's the "LOW FAT - NON FAT" trend still going on. Yes, it's trendy to eat tofu and fish! This marketing trend helped launch lots of new fat-free products.
This advertising alerted unsuspecting souls of trans fats; good thing, right? But do we stop and think...hmmm...if they've taken out the fat, what have they added in place of it? Yes, more sugar.

My point here is that trends are just that, trends. They come and go because fresh new trends offer a platform to launch NEW products … (33 comments)

new hampshire: UNH Goes Green (My Alma Mater) - 03/06/07 03:15 PM
What a pleasant surprise to read that the University of New Hampshire is in the top 5% of energy-efficient college campuses nationwide. The "Winter UNH Magazine", pages 26-29,  is a great eye-opener as to what is happening with the local college students here in Durham, NH.  I'm proud of my alma mater!
The driving force behind their green projects is no longer having to choose between the economy and the environment.Presently they are working on a project that would save the university $30-40 million dollars over the next 20 years in heat and electricity bills by piping methane gas from a … (7 comments)
