Caution—If you take your post-license course before becoming licensed as a broker, the course will not count.

If you need the 14 hour continuing education after all classes are over and time is short, one option is the open book test. "Click here for details"
If you pre enroll in a Post License or Continuing Education class and your license is within 60 days of expiration, we will not cancel the class. If there have been no pre enrollments, and no commitments to attend class 5 days prior to the class date, the class is subject to be rescheduled in six months.

Who doesn't love Rodney Dangerfield in "Back to School?"  He was hilarious! Furthering your education is no laughing matter in the real world.  Most Sales Associates who make the decision to take their license and education to the next level do it to better themselves and their livelihood. Sales Associates who fail to complete the post-licensing education must re-qualify for licensure by meeting all current licensing criteria.  Broker and broker associates who fail to complete post-licensing education may request to revert to sales associate status within 6 months following expiration, but must have complied with the applicable continuing education requirements before their new sales associate license can be activated.

A Florida license which has become voluntarily inactive may be renewed pursuant to s. 475.182 upon application to the department. The commission shall prescribe by rule continuing education requirements, not to exceed 12 classroom hours for each year the license was inactive, as a condition of renewing a voluntarily inactive license. The commission shall substitute for such continuing education requirements, on a classroom-hour-for-classroom-hour basis, any satisfactorily completed education course approved in the manner specified in s. 475.182(1). A person whose license is voluntarily inactive and who renews the license may elect to continue her or his voluntarily inactive status.

Rule 61J1-4.009 F.A.C. states that failing to complete the required post-licensing education hours prior to the end of the second renewal cycle will result in the license becoming Null & Void.  It cannot be renewed after that time.  You will have to submit a new application and receive a new license to continue appraising.

Applicants who possess a Florida sales associates license must fulfill their sales associates post licensing education before the expiration of the initial sales associates license or before applying for a broker's license (whichever occurs first)Broker applicants must successfully complete Course II or an equivalent FREC approved course  (unless qualifying as a broker under the mutual recognition provision.)  Course II consists of 69 hours of instruction plus 3 hours for the end of course examination.

education: Time Limit For PreLicense Education - 04/12/11 04:33 PM
If an applicant does not pass the state license exam within two years after the course completion date, the course completion expires and the applicant must again complete the prelicense education course.  The completion date is the date the student passed the prelicense end of course exam.
