The following Atlanta real estate statistics was just published this evening January 21, 2009 in our First Multiple Listing Service FMLS (Our primary MLS system for Atlanta) for December 2008.  It also included a summary of Atlanta real estate for the year 2008.  I will publish a separate Blog for December MLS statistics, and thought the 2008 were important enough to to share on their own merit.

2008: Do You Remember the Numbers? You Should! - 01/16/09 11:32 AM
Do you remember when the National Association of Realtors NAR - project the annual numbers of sales of resale homes?  You should.  It will give you a perspective into the state of things to come.  During the peak in the market it was not unusual for the NAR numbers to float between a projected 5-6 million sales of resale homes per annum.  In 2008, it moved into the high 4 millions, and was recently revised.

2008: 2008 - A Lot of Unanswered Questions - 12/30/08 06:05 PM
2008 was the year in real estate that most of would not want to see repeated, but before we move into 2009 I would love to ask a few questions.  I am still feeling very uneasy about living through the biggest unexplained events to transpire since the "Great depression", but personally feel there are too many questions that are still not answered to my satisfaction.  Even here on Active Rain, no one really talks about the events of 2008.  I guess they feel it is too negative and all they want to do is get back to work as usual.  Guess … (98 comments)

When I look back over 2008, I do so in disbelief.  As a society, what were we thinking?  First of all real estate has changed most dramatically.  I am not expecting the sales we saw in the last few years to return in my lifetime.  I am expecting us to return to a normal real estate market in the next few years.  So in the meantime, sales have dropped, prices are declining, foreclosures are up, and the economy is in turmoil.  If we back up a few years and look at what was occurring, there should be no doubt why globally … (37 comments)

I'm out of here!  LOL!  This election day has a lot at stake for individuals like myself,and to the rest of the nation.  All the arguments that could have been made were made, and persons should have weighed out all the information and decided who would best serve their beliefs and then needs of the nation.

Atlanta Homes and Real Estate Trends for September 2008 - Atlanta Single Family Detached Homes Sold.  The Atlanta First Multiple Listing Service just published the most recent statistics for Atlanta real estate today Wednesday October 22, 2008.  It really tells us nothing we did not know, but there are some trends that must be paid attention to if you are buying a home in Atlanta or selling a home.  Atlanta homes sales are 33% off the market peaks we saw in September 2005.  Though Atlanta homes sales rose 10.8% from September last year it is important to acknowledge that many of … (0 comments)
