flipping homes: Real Estate Downfall - A Parody Video Posted on YouTube. - 11/19/08 04:09 AM
Have any of you seen this parody clip that is posted on YouTube on the "Real Estate Down Fall?"  Someone sent me the link today, I thought that it was very insightful and sobering on how people believed real estate could only go up in value.  I am sure many still do believe  that their neighbors home has dropped in price, but not their own.  Watch the video and read the sub titles and please take time to share your comments.

flipping homes: Atlanta Mortgage & Real Estate Fraud - Jail is too good For Them! - 10/11/08 03:27 PM
For the past few days in the Atlanta news there are stories online about mortgage, real estate fraud in the Atlanta area.  This one hits really close to home. I am familiar with a lot of the homes identified.  Some were originally sold fraudulently in the 1 million plus range, and have sold for 550K in foreclosure.   It seems 7 out of 21 involved in the scam have already pleaded guilty, and it is totally sickening to see the fraud that occurred. flipping homes: Am I Missing Something? Short term Vs. Long Term Capital Gains? - 04/30/07 05:21 PM
The latest craze for the last year or so is flipping homes.  You cannot avoid hearing about it, on TV infomercials reality realty TV shows that are all about Flipping homes,  Friends of ours have quite full time jobs to pursue this )don't give up your day job!)  There are short sale seminars, foreclosure seminars etc...
But what about the tax consequences?  Short term VS long term gains?  Every thing I see on TV is a Short term hold for a fast flip. They always brag about the amount of money they made, purchase price, expenses, and finally they mention the sales price when … (11 comments)
