RE/MAX Convention Orlando Florida 2010 We just returned from RE/MAX Convention in Florida and what a time we had! I was impressed by the achievers in todays real estate market showing up from all around the globe! It was truly inspiring to meet other agents from RE/MAX offices around the globe! South Africa, South America, Italy, Estonia, Finland, Australia, Canada from coast to coast, Austria, Spain, Costa Rica, US Virgin Islands and too many more to possibly mention. It was humbling. The economy was so bad last year I did attend the RE/MAX Convention. I was speaking with an Atlanta real estate agent friend of mine the other day about the difficulty in dealing with sellers in this current market. No matter what statistics, facts or reports that you present the sellers, their home is different! They want to know why you cannot sell it! Sellers are more anxious than ever, and want minute by minute blows on what the listing agent is doing to sell their homes! I think many agents shoot themselves in the foot when they go on a listings appointment. They have it set in their mind the major competition for the listing is going to be commission. The seller is about to pick their brains, and when it is all said and done...hand the information over to a someone else that will list theri home for next to nothing. Before anyone says anything, this post is not about commission! It is about a self-defeating attitude. The agent is doomed to live out the scenario they've dreamt up in their own mind.
