The final game of college field hockey competition at Ursinus College has been played by my daughter. They lost in the semi-final game 4-0 against Messiah College on Saturday, November 20, 2010. It was a disappointing end to a very successful year. They lost the first and the last game to Messiah. It was a very exciting year and is filled with wonderful memories. As a parent, I mourn the loss of many years of watching my daughter play soccer and field hockey. This season is now over in my life as a parent. I look (9 comments)
Today the Ursinus Bears hosted the one of the four regional finals for Division III field hockey. They defeated Middlebury College 3-0. My daughter, Megan, has played for the Bears for 4 years and played her final game on Eleanor Frost Snell field. The Bears will travel to Christopher Newport University where the finals for Division III field hockey will be played. The Bears will play a very familiar foe in Messiah College. I soaked in today. I relished the game, the friendships I have developed over the years and the meal we shared together after the (6 comments)
My daughter, Megan has worn the #2 at Ursinus College for the past 4 years and is nearing the end of her collegiate career. On Tuesday, October 26, the final regular season game was played at Eleanor Frost Snell Field. It was Senior Night and I realized it was the passing of an era for me. I have followed my daughter through her career in soccer and field hockey for about 14 years. It has been a fun experience. I have witnessed moments of great highs and some real lows, but it has truly very exciting. However, all (13 comments)
It was a beautiful day for field hockey in West Chester, PA. A long history is apparent between West Chester University and Ursinus College. The game was played to see who would hold bragging rights for the year and hold the Snell Cup. Ursinus College came out victorious with a 4-3 overtime victory. Go Bears. A big thanks to Margie Mastoris who provided the above photo.
It was a great night for field hockey. The weather changed dramatically during the day and it was cool. You can see how the wind was blowing. Ursinus was playing Rowan University from New Jersey. It was a good game with Ursinus College winning 2-1. Winning is always more fun.
My daughter enjoyed a better game tonight. If you want to see a couple of pics of her, check out the Ursinus field hockey website. (4 comments)
