Dec 1 2011 - The numbers are here for Nov Hillsborough County (Tampa) Florida. These numbers are from the sales on the Tampa FL MLS system. November sales were 1054 for the entire county which includes Tampa FL and it's suburbs. The number is down 6% year over year and down 20% month over month. Mo/Mo isn't a good statistic to look at, it's affected by seasonal changes. Year/Year is the one that matters, it compares the same time frames, and the same seasonal conditions. Buyers continue to be worried about the real estate market here in Tampa Florida and that has gone on for some time now. A recent survey by Credit Suisse states that the Buyer Traffic index has fallen again, from 33 in September to the current 25 for October. Anything under a score of 50 means lower than expected levels. Another thing that I see happening is buyers getting cold feet and using the inspection clause a way to back out.
