tampa real estate: The kitchen is the heart of the home so keep it beating... - 01/16/12 05:59 AM
The kitchen is the heart of the home.
Sometimes the kitchen is a dream area in the home with adequate space for all the dishes and equipment required to make the home complete.
Sometimes the kitchen is small making the space prime real estate with only room for the most essential items.
If your kitchen fits the category of the later, then a few tips from Houseworks, by Cynthia Townley Ewer is as good as gold.
Ewer suggests dividing items in the kitchen into three categories – A, B and C.
Items in the “A” categories are located in the front … (0 comments)

tampa real estate: Florida Reverse Mortgages - 01/09/12 01:16 AM
TAMPA – There has been a great deal of talk about reverse mortgages but how do you know if it’s right for you?

First, let’s start with the basics.

According to the Florida Reverse Mortgage website a reverse mortgage is offered to homeowners who are at least 62 years old and older. It is FHA insured and differs from all other mortgages because it is a loan that is not due until the homeowner is no longer living in the property, proved the home is maintained in good condition and property insurance and taxes are paid.

tampa real estate: Don't be negative, look at the stats for Tampa Real Estate - 12/01/11 02:33 AM

Dec 1 2011 - The numbers are here for Nov Hillsborough County (Tampa) Florida.  These numbers are from the sales on the Tampa FL MLS system.  November sales were 1054 for the entire county which includes Tampa FL and it's suburbs.  The number is down 6% year over year and down 20% month over month.  Mo/Mo isn't a good statistic to look at, it's affected by seasonal changes.  Year/Year is the one that matters, it compares the same time frames, and the same seasonal conditions.
The drop in sales is the first real drop in sales since Oct and Nov of last year, … (2 comments)

tampa real estate: What's the next plan to help borrowers? - 11/23/11 01:48 AM
Wondering what's next for the housing market? Well here's the next trick in the lineup. Bill 170 in the Senate (S170) is setup to allow homeowners who own more in their mortgages than the home is worth, to refinance at todays lower interest rates. This plan is regardless of the homes market value. But, they must be current with their payments and the mortgages must be a Freddie Mac or Fannie Mae. This might help a lot of those in the Tampa Real Estate market, but I wonder how do they get the banks to agree with the cuts to their interest … (1 comments)

tampa real estate: New home activity in north Hillsborough County Florida - 11/08/11 11:56 PM
Judging by the signs and billboards for new homes you'd think the housing boom was coming back.  There has been a definite increase in the amount of signs advertising new homes in Lutz FL and surrounding areas.  Is there a housing boom in the Tampa area?  I don't think so, but it has been reset.  The developments that went backrupt or closed down over the past few years have now been repurchased at todays values.  This "reset" in pricing has made it possible for builders to start building at todays prices and once again compete with the lower Tampa real estate … (0 comments)

tampa real estate: Lower supply doesn't change low demand in Tampa Florida - 11/05/11 12:42 PM
Buyers continue to be worried about the real estate market here in Tampa Florida and that has gone on for some time now.  A recent survey by Credit Suisse states that the Buyer Traffic index has fallen again, from 33 in September to the current 25 for October.  Anything under a score of 50 means lower than expected levels.  Another thing that I see happening is buyers getting cold feet and using the inspection clause a way to back out. But the big problem is the appraisers are so afraid to appraise a home higher than the average for the neighborhood, … (0 comments)
