2011 Texas Folklife Festival - San Antonio, TX - June 10-12 This weekend, June 10th - 12th, the Institute in HemisFair Park in downtown San Antonio, Texas will host the 2011 Texas Folklife Festival! The first Texas Folklife Festival was held in 1972. So, 2011 will mark the 40th annual celebration! The Texas Folklike Festival was actually originally modeled after the Smithsonian's Folklife Festival, first held in Washington, D.C. in 1968. San Antonio's annual event celebrates the many ethnicities represented throughout the population of Texas!
