Buyers these days seem so demanding and picky. I have had some clients for a year now (ugh!). They should have bought the first house I showed them. But they want it all...and they want to steal it. Sunday I showed them an immaculate cape cod w/ an addition: typical rabbit warren of rooms but beautifully maintained...neat as a pin and Q-tip clean. Then we saw a center hall colonial--the woman's ideal style house. It cost $75,000 more but it had a great location, modern open floor plan with big rooms+flow--and their 2 most important priorities: fenced yard and  big master suite. It … (1 comments)

I met a builder at the National Association of Home Builders conference last week in Raleigh. He had just finished teaching a NAR Green class in Connecticut. At the beginning of the class, he asked people to raise their hand if they were not really interested in green, but just taking the class to get the required credits to renew their licenses. All but 3 realtors in the room raised their hands. Green is the color of money. Green houses in Oregon sell for 15% to 30% more. They sell faster. And Green is the Right thing to do.
